The Packers cut Sammy Watkins Monday
The Green Bay Packers will be down a wide receiver against the Los Angeles Rams Monday night. The Packers cut Sammy Watkins Monday morning. Watkins didn’t have much production after his hamstring injury earlier in the season. With Watkins off the roster, the Packers had a spot to fill Monday before the Rams game.
According to a statement by the Packers, the team signed running back Patrick Taylor to the 53-man roster. Taylor was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He played for the Packers in 19 games during this and last season.
Taylor has been used mostly for special teams. However, he has produced some for the offense. Taylor has 95 yards on 24 rushes in his career. He also has two catches for three yards. It’ll be interesting to see if Taylor has a more significant load for the offense after the promotion.
