The Chiefs have finalized a deal to bring Marquez Valdes-Scantling (MVS) to Kansas City. He gets paid big time to go play with Patrick Mahomes.
Contract Details:
- Three-year, $30 million deal
- $18 million in the first two years
- Incentives to reach a maximum of $36 million
Per his agents NSAFootball, Tom Pelissero, and Ian Rapoport
One day after trading Tyreek Hill to Miami, Kansas City begins spending the money they freed up on MVS — a new speed threat for Patrick Mahomes. It just appears that Green Bay was not going to foot that 10 million dollar per year bill for MVS.
In four years, Valdes-Scantling has 123 catches for 2,153 yards (17.5-yard average) and 13 touchdowns. He had seven drops in 2020 but he had just one last season
Can confirm Marquez Valdes-Scantling is signing a 3-year, $30M contract with the Chiefs, per source. The contract is worth as much as $36M. Simply out of the #Packers price range. MVS’s speed will fit nicely in the hole Tyreek Hill vacated.
Packers facing a major overhaul at WR.

It is time for Green Bay to make a move at wide receiver
Green Bay may have been silent so far on the wide receiver market because they were pursuing MVS. Now that he is in Kansas City, expect Green Bay to ramp up their search elsewhere. The Packer WR room is going to look a whole lot different in 2022 with Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown all gone.
