BREAKING: After injuring his left quad in last night’s home loss to the Chicago Cubs, Lorenzo Cain has been placed on the 10-day IL. Tyrone Taylor has been recalled from the alternate training site to take his place on the roster.

Continued Injury Woes for Lorenzo Cain
This latest injury is another set-back for Lorenzo Cain. After opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, the 35-year old outfielder has struggled to stay healthy. He missed time in Spring Training due to a strained right quad, and missed some time early this season due to another leg injury.
This latest injury is a strained left quad, which he suffered after trying to beat out a groundout in last night’s game. So far this season, Cain is hitting .154/.214/.423 with two home runs and five RBI.
Tyrone Taylor
Tyrone Taylor was optioned to the alternate training site following a strong Spring Training. In 19 games this spring, he hit .293/.318/.488 with two home runs and four RBI.
Last season, Taylor spent 22 games with the Big League club. He hit .237/.293/.500 with two home runs and six RBI.
