A Former Badgers wide receiver is choosing a Big Ten rival
Transfer portal season in college football is quickly becoming one of the most exciting parts of the sport in late November. The Wisconsin Badgers should see a lot of moves happening after hiring head coach Luke Fickell from the Cincinnati Bearcats program. A former Badgers wide receiver in the transfer portal made their choice Monday to go to a rival school.
According to Markus Allen’s Twitter page, the former four-star recruit chose the Badgers’ rival, the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The decision came just days after Wisconsin lost to Minnesota. The Badgers hired Fickell on the following day on Sunday. Allen noticed the move:

Allen was a redshirt freshman this season for the Badgers. He entered the transfer portal after Wisconsin fired Paul Chryst. The former Badgers pass catcher finished his time in Wisconsin with ten receptions for 156 yards and one touchdown over his season and a half there.
The Badgers have seen many players and prospects choose new schools after Chryst was fired. According to Jesse Temple with The Athletic, the Badgers have lost five committed recruits for their 2023 class.
Defensive lineman Trey Pierce decommits from Wisconsin. He had visited Michigan twice and has several other recent offers. That's five decommits in Wisconsin's 2023 recruiting class, including two today. Lots of transition coming for the Badgers.

Fickell will be busy these next few months trying to recruit help for the Badgers for their 2023 season.
