Big changes could be coming soon to the Milwaukee Bucks. In 2014, an ownership group of Wes Edens are Marc Lasry purchased the team from former U.S senator Herbert Kohl. The Bucks have had a lot of success in that time thanks to superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, there could be some changes coming to Bucks ownership.
Changes Coming To Bucks Ownership?
Bill Simmons snuck a major news item into his Lowe Post spot yesterday: “I’ve heard the Lasry [ownership] stake might be available on Milwaukee.”
Obviously any ownership change could be seismic for the Bucks whether Edens consolidates power or somebody new comes in.

Bill Simmons has connections in the basketball world. On his own podcast and other appearances he often drops nuggets of information that he is hearing. “I’ve heard the Lasry stake might be available on Milwaukee” Simmons said on Zach Lowe’s podcast. If this is true, it could have a huge impact on the Bucks and the league. Anytime a team changes owners it is a big deal. It is unknown whether someone will buy the share or somebody new will come in. With the Bucks recent success, the value has gone up and is a desireable place to be an owner.
Is This Actually True?
Bill Simmons has been right about a lot of news so we have to take him seriously. For months he was dropping hints that the NBA was looking to expand to Las Vegas and the driving force behind this was LeBron James. Lo and behold, James recently made a very public appeal to commissioner Adam Silver for the NBA to expand to Las Vegas. With James in the twilight of his career, it makes sense that he would maybe transition into ownership. This is just one of the many instances of Simmons having inside information that turns out to be true.
This is something to watch as the NBA season starts. The focus in ownership right now is in the pending Pheonix Suns sale. However, now that this nugget of information has been dropped, I expect more investigation on this claim. This will be a storyline to watch as the Bucks begin their quest for another title this season.
