WR Brandon Cooks has chosen to stay in Houston for the long term. After an entire off-season of talk about Cooks being a primary trade target, he ends up staying put for the foreseeable future. Multiple reports came out over the weekend about a second round pick being the price for the WR.
WR Brandin Cooks has agreed to a new two-year extension with the Texans, per source.

The trade market is quickly drying up and the Packers options are extremely limited. Unless they want to make a major splash for a number one wide receiver; free agency and the draft will be the way to go.
There is one slight possibility that this extension was signed to make a trade more appealing to other teams. If Houston really does want that second round pick, this is a great selling point. Cooks’ cap hit is presumably much lower now.
