Many people and reporters foresaw Aaron Rodgers skipping mandatory minicamp amid his turmoil with the front office. There have been reports stating that the Packers have been constantly trying to get a deal done with Rodgers. Initial reports felt as if Rodgers had requested a trade. However, nothing of such has been confirmed. Rodgers now faces over $90,000 in fines. What does this mean about his future in Green Bay?

Trade Unlikely
Trading Rodgers still is quite unlikely as it is not in the best interest of the Packers. First off, he’s the reigning league MVP, and even a king’s ransom would not feel like enough to draw a trade. Second, the Packers clearly feel they need him to win, or else a trade would have happened by now. Third, Brian Gutekunst and Mark Murphy have publicly stated that they will not trade Aaron Rodgers and are working towards a resolution with the All-Pro Quarterback.
#Packers Mark Murphy, in his monthly column, gives no new update on the Aaron Rodgers situation, but does say it has “divided our fan base.”
Adds: “We remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and we want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond.” pic.twitter.com/1DVd0z4WeA

Fines
Aaron Rodgers, like any other player, will face fines for skipping the three-day mandatory minicamp. He has already skipped voluntary OTAs and forfeited his $500,000 workout bonus. Rodgers had been a regular attendant at OTAs before this year. Rodgers will be fined just north of $90,000 for skipping minicamp. However, the Packers could waive his fines should they feel it will help resolve the situation. Regardless, Rodgers’ absence will make way for Jordan Love to take some reps with the starters.
