The Wisconsin football staff has landed a commitment from four-star lineman Hardy Watts, who could be the 2025 class closer.
Hardy Watts, a four-star interior offensive lineman and the top-ranked recruit in Massachusetts, has announced his commitment to the Wisconsin football program. The Badgers had fought hard to land Watts over Clemson and Michigan, and impressed with their official visit early last month. Wisconsin lands their 22nd hard commitment of the 2025 recruiting class, and also adds a versatile monster to the offensive line.
Wisconsin Football Lands Four-Star Hardy Watts Over Clemson, Michigan
The Wisconsin football staff has landed their 22nd commitment of the 2025 recruiting class after snagging the top-ranked Massachusetts recruit. Hardy Watts, a four-star interior offensive lineman, has announced his intentions of joining the Wisconsin football program.
Watts is the 12th ranked interior offensive lineman in the class and the 218th ranked recruit overall. Plenty of teams had been in the running for Watts, including Duke, Penn State, Clemson, and Michigan. However, Watts cut his list down to Clemson, Michigan, and Wisconsin weeks ago before announcing his decision this afternoon.
What the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team is Receiving With Watts
Watts is not your average interior offensive lineman because he possesses an incredible amount of versatility along the line. The Wisconsin football program and most colleges in contact with Watts see his potential landing spot at guard, however Watts has experience playing all across the line.
The first two seasons that Watts played in high school were both at right tackle, and this past season Watts received playing time on the interior of the line. With a frame of 6-feet-6-inches, and 290-pounds, Watts can shift along the line and play different positions with ease, all while still maintaining his strength and agility.
Is the Wisconsin Staff Done With the 2025 Recruiting Class Following a 22nd Commitment?
While Watts may appear to be the closer for the 2025 recruiting class, the Wisconsin football staff may still have their eyes on a few key recruits. Running back Byron Louis and defensive lineman Drayden Pavey are still potential target for the Wisconsin staff as they near their commitment announcements.
Louis is a four-star running back with plenty of potential on the field as he is a do-it-all kind of back. Louis took an official visit to Madison early last month, but after a recent visit to Florida State, the running back earned a crystal ball prediction to land there.
Pavey also took an official visit last month to Madison, but has been on campus much more recently than Louis has. Pavey is down to Wisconsin, Purdue, and Indiana, but no experts or analysts are confident in where the big defensive lineman will land. Wisconsin was once a leader in his recruitment, but that remains to be seen when he announces his eventual commitment to a collegiate program.
