Last season, it seemed as if Corbin Burnes made history every time he took the mound. From a no-walk streak to a combined no-hitter to a Cy Young, it was surely a special season. This year, Burnes is being joined in historic pitching performances by a couple of his fellow starters. Eric Lauer has made Brewers history in each of his last two starts. In Milwaukee’s 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night, Brandon Woodruff wrote his name into the record books along with Burnes’ and Lauer’s.

    Three-Straight 10+ Strikeout Games

Brandon Woodruff earned his third win of the season behind 5.2 innings pitched and 12 strikeouts. Now 3-1, Woody allowed three runs on four hits and no walks. The 12 strikeouts, matched his career high.

The performance, though, was also noteworthy for another reason. This marked the first time in franchise history in which Brewers starting pitchers struck out 10 or more batters in three straight games.

For the first time in franchise history, Brewers starters have struck out 10+ batters in 3 straight appearances.

Eric Lauer had 11 strikeouts in the Brewers’ 9-1 win over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. Corbin Burnes had 10 strikeouts in the Brewers’ 2-0 loss to Chicago on Sunday.

Home Runs from Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez Lead Offense

The Milwaukee Brewers’ offense was carried by Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez. Adames was 1/4 with a three run home run. He was named the NL Player of the Week last week when he hit four home runs. He now leads the Brewers in home runs (six) and RBI (17).

Rowdy Tellez was also 1/4 with a solo home run. He hit his in the eighth inning. Tellez now has five home runs and 13 RBI on the year.

    Game Notes

    • Luis Urias returned from IL. He went 1/2 with a single and RBI.
    • Kolten Wong was 2/2 with a RBI.
    • Josh Hader was not available due to back soreness. He is listed as day-to-day.
    • Devin Williams picked up his second save of the season.
