Last season, it seemed as if Corbin Burnes made history every time he took the mound. From a no-walk streak to a combined no-hitter to a Cy Young, it was surely a special season. This year, Burnes is being joined in historic pitching performances by a couple of his fellow starters. Eric Lauer has made Brewers history in each of his last two starts. In Milwaukee’s 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night, Brandon Woodruff wrote his name into the record books along with Burnes’ and Lauer’s.
Three-Straight 10+ Strikeout Games
Brandon Woodruff earned his third win of the season behind 5.2 innings pitched and 12 strikeouts. Now 3-1, Woody allowed three runs on four hits and no walks. The 12 strikeouts, matched his career high.
The performance, though, was also noteworthy for another reason. This marked the first time in franchise history in which Brewers starting pitchers struck out 10 or more batters in three straight games.
For the first time in franchise history, Brewers starters have struck out 10+ batters in 3 straight appearances.

Eric Lauer had 11 strikeouts in the Brewers’ 9-1 win over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. Corbin Burnes had 10 strikeouts in the Brewers’ 2-0 loss to Chicago on Sunday.
