Bobby Portis Recruits Wisconsin Badgers Legend to Green Bay

MILWAUKEE, WI - JULY 14: Bobby Portis #9 of the Milwaukee Bucks yells during the game against the Phoenix Suns during Game Four of the 2021 NBA Finals on July 14, 2021 at the Fiserv Forum Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bobby Portis has embraced Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin like very few athletes do.  Over the last few years he has become one of the most beloved professional athletes in the state of Wisconsin.  Portis has been vocal about what Milwaukee has meant to him, specifically saying that “Milwaukee has changed my life.”  Bobby continues to embrace Wisconsin in all aspects, even when it comes to recruiting athletes from other sports to the state of Wisconsin.

Bobby Portis Recruits JJ Watt To Wisconsin:

In case you missed it, the internet reacted to JJ Watt having a snake in his bathroom.  JJ Watt reached out to twitter to ask for help in how to handle it..  Bobby Portis has the perfect response:

    Move to Wisconsin. https://t.co/xQKMZR6VVI

    — Bobby BP Portis (@BPortistime) August 13, 2022

“Move to Wisconsin” was the perfect response to dealing with snakes in the desert.  It is doubtful that Portis was recruiting JJ Watt to live in Milwaukee (maybe in the off-season).  There’s only one true place Watt would likely move to.. Green Bay.

Would JJ Watt to Green Bay even be possible?

J.J. Watt, Texans embraced by training camp bike riders

In short?  Probably not.  JJ Watt is expected to make $13.5 million in 2022 with a cap hit of $15.9 million. In 2023, which is a voided year of the contract, Watt can still carry a cap hit of $7.2 million despite not having to play.  The Green Bay Packers have done great work in getting their salary cap back to manageable, however it is unlikely they would be willing to pay this type of money for Watt.  Not to mention whatever the Cardinals would ask for in the trade.

Green Bay does however have a need for depth at the EDGE position.  If the opportunity presented itself… crazier things have happened this off-season, right?
