Bobby Portis ended the season on a tear. While other starters rested in order to prepare for the playoffs, Portis suited up and played well. His play in the final week of the season earned him the title of Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Bobby Portis: Eastern Conference Player Of The Week
In the last week of the season, Portis’ numbers were off the charts. He averaged a double-double with 20.7 points and 12.3 rebounds. What is most impressive is his field goal percentage. He shot 44% from the field and a ridiculous 59.1% from three. His ability to stretch the floor is what makes him such a threat on the court. This is a great last week to have to make his Sixth Man of the Year case. The Milwaukee Bucks are hoping that at least one of their players earns a regular season honor but we will have to wait and see.

Bucks Begin The Championship Run
Portis is one cog in the machine that is the Milwaukee Bucks. Each and every player plays a unique role and shines in it. They will need the role players to step up in order to win another Larry O’Brien trophy. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday will lead the scoring but the health of Khris Middleton may mean that others need to step up in the meantime. The depth that the team has cultivated over the season will be a benefit to them moving forward.
It is great to see players like Bobby Portis win Player of the Week. So often, players like Portis go unnoticed as they do all of the little things to help a team win. Portis is an important part of the bench and if keeps these types of numbers up, opponents will have a tough time stopping the offense.
