The Packers face their first cross-conference opponent in week four when the New England Patriots come to Lambeau field. Packers faced one-half of the historic Brady and Belichick combo last week when they traveled to Tampa Bay. The Packers were able to beat Brady and the Bucs 14-12. The Patriots are 1-2 and may have just lost starting quarterback Mac Jones for some time. Bill Belichick won’t have his starting quarterback at his disposal for this matchup, and he knows the threat Aaron Rodgers presents. Belicheck went on “The Greg Hill Show” Monday and talked glowingly about Rodgers.
“He’s very smart. A very good athlete,” said Belichick. “He’s got very good quickness and the ability to avoid and escape guys in the pocket to extend plays. Really no weaknesses with the player at all. Tremendous amount of experience in game situation management. He’s as good as there is. “
Aaron Rodgers vs. Belichick
Aaron Rodgers has started three career games against the Belichick-led Patriots. In those three games, Rodgers has four touchdown passes and averages 219.6 passing yards per game. The Patriots’ defense will have their hands full with Rodgers, but they’ve faired well in the past. Belichick had high praise for the rest of the offense.
” It’ll be a big challenge for us defensively this week. Not just him, but [Aaron] Jones and the entire offense. It’s a good offensive team. They’re well coached. They have a lot of good players, and they have a great, great quarterback.”
The Packers’ offense has been trying to find its way without Davante Adams, but in week three they found some rhythm. They scored on the first two drives before a fumble shifted momentum to Tampa Bay. Tampa’s defense is one of the best in the league and was able to make stops the rest of the game.
