Baseball may not have the same luster as it used to have in its golden years. However, specific things about the Milwaukee Brewers (and the great American Pastime by extension) make them a compelling viewing experience for spectators old and new.
Brewers fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about what’s happening in the diamond. The Brewers are en route to finish the season in the playoffs after a solid regular season thus far. Jackson Chourio is having one of the most impressive rookie seasons in recent memory, causing fans to be hyped about his future.
One more factor that makes going to a Milwaukee Brewers game unique is the presence of Hank the Ballpark Pup. The pooch has become one of the team’s unofficial mascots over the 2010s and early 2020s, winning hearts with his effortlessly cute looks and attitude.
However, the week has been rough for some fans as they had to wake up to unfortunate news.
Milwaukee Brewers’ beloved mascot Hank the Ballpark Pup passes away
The Brewers announced that Hank had unfortunately passed away after spending a decade entertaining fans who frequent the American Family Field.
Per TMJ4 News:
“Hank was truly loved by our family and we are so grateful for the ten years we had with him,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Marti Wronski. “Hank seemed to know that he was rescued by the entire Brewers family and he never met a fan – or really any human – he didn’t love. We are heartbroken to be without him but are grateful for the joy he brought to so many and the spotlight he helped shine on animal rescue.”
There’s no doubt plenty of fans will miss having Hank in the ballpark as he was a bundle of joy to every person who had the privilege of interacting with him. Hopefully, the Milwaukee Brewers can honor his legacy by winning the World Series.
