The Bears defense could be in for a boost Saturday against the Packers with the possible return of star linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Help is on the way: The #Bears are opening the 21-day window for LB Tremaine Edmunds, as begins to ramp up. Real chance he returns Saturday vs the #Packers.

Chicago hope for defensive boost while Green Bay prepares for life post-Micah Parsons
After suffering a groin injury, Edmunds has not played since November 16 in Minnesota. In 10 games this season, the eighth-year linebacker has 89 tackles including three games in double digits. He has recorded 34 stops according to Pro Football Focus.
Edmunds, 27, has shown no signs of slowing down in 2025. The former Buffalo Bill has tied a career-best with four interceptions and has also notched nine passes defensed. Among 88 qualified LBs, Edmunds ranks 29th per PFF with a grade of 72.1. A force against both the run and the pass, he has held quarterbacks to a passer rating of 62.3 when targeted, 2nd-lowest at his position.
Getting Edmunds back versus Green Bay would be a major addition. When the teams clashed in Week 14, he was still on injured reserve.

Meanwhile, the Packers must find a way to compensate for the loss of Parsons, the lifeblood of their pass rush. Lukas Van Ness and Kingsley Enagbare figure to have increased responsibilities in his absence.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Green Bay is a 1.5-point road favorite, down from -3 in the opening line. As in the first matchup, at least breaking even in the turnover battle against the ball-hawking Chicago defense will be key for the Packers. Boosted by Edmunds four picks from the linebacker position, the Bears lead the NFL with a 4.37 interception percentage. In 28-21 Packers win last time, Jordan Love was picked off once but also threw three touchdowns.
