It’s a battle of the aces on Monday as the Milwaukee Brewers travel out west to face the San Diego Padres. After facing a tough loss in extra innings on Sunday, the Brewers are taking on the Padres in a three game series as they begin a six-game road trip.
Brewers’ Starting Pitcher: Brandon Woodruff
Brandon Woodruff is on fire so far this season.
While he still has yet to get a win under his belt, Woody has only allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and has punched out 19. In his last outing, he only allowed the Chicago Cubs to get one run on three hits and struck out six.
He is a part of an elite starting rotation that opponents are hitting just .175 against.
Woodruff has a challenge on his hands facing the Padres as their offense has been one of the elites. The lineup he’s facing tonight have only seen 27 at-bats against him. However, the team has posted a slashline of .292 AVG/.346 OBP/.417 SLG, which is admirable.
Padres’ Starting Pitcher: Joe Musgrove
Pitching in a new environment, Joe Musgrove has already made Padres history. He pitched the franchise’s first no-hitter against the Texas Rangers on April 8.
He’s got a 1-0 record with a 0.47 ERA and 0.47 WHIP in just three appearances.
Musgrove has a solid chance for a decent start against Milwaukee as they’ve only faced the pitcher 27 times and have posted a batting average of .185 and .267 OBP.
Brewers’ Starting Lineup
Jackie Bradley Jr. will hit lead-off on his birthday tonight against the Padres.
Woodruff takes the mound to start a three-game series against the Padres at 9:10 p.m.* CT.
