Badgers’ staff targeting impressive 2028 Arrowhead tight end

The Wisconsin Badgers have continued to keep close tabs on a top in-state 2028 prospect who has been receiving a flurry of scholarship offers.

Arrowhead (WI) tight end prospect Tre Oiler has quickly become a household name and someone to watch closely in the 2028 recruiting cycle. Oiler is a 6-foot-6, 220-pound athlete who combines the speed of a receiver with the size of a tight end into one package. The recruit has quickly flown into the radar of top programs after putting together a successful season on the field.

Wisconsin previously offered Oiler a scholarship in November of 2025, not only being the first program to do so but only being the offer that kicked off the process. Shortly after receiving an offer from the Badgers, the tight end then heard from Iowa State and Minnesota before the month closed. Oiler has since earned offers from Virginia Tech, Florida, Michigan State, SMU, and Purdue among others.

Amid the new push for Oiler from opposing programs, the Badgers managed to host the recruit and meet in person. The main focus for the staff will be the 2027 class, but the 2028 in-state class in particular is considered to be a talented one. The Badgers have begun to focus on specific priority recruits and Oiler appears to be someone who is in that territory.

The Badgers have been stacking in-state commitments lately with Wisconsin based recruits lining the 2027 recruiting class early. Among the players committed to Wisconsin in the 2027 class early is fellow tight end and four-star recruit Korz Loken. The tight end will not hit campus for another year, but the commitment is massive for the Badgers given his status as the top prospect in the state and a top prospect at his position.

Much like with Loken, Wisconsin is banking on developing a relationship with the recruit early before other notable programs nationally become involved. Loken held a deep bag of scholarship offers, but still has not fully developed on the field and likely will receive renewed attention following this upcoming summer camp season.

Landing a commitment from the home grown tight end when the staff was able to was key as Loken has not reached the peak of his recruitment yet. The Badgers might be able to do the same with Oiler, who is already gaining the attention of Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC programs.
