The Wisconsin Badgers have extended a scholarship offer to the son of a Hall of Fame linebacker. Kennedy Urlacher, son of the former Bears legend Brian Urlacher, has been offered a scholarship by Luke Fickell and his staff. The 2024 recruit is not just the son of a big name, but rather someone looking to carve out his own story.
Wisconsin Badgers Offer 2024 DB Kennedy Urlacher
The six-foot-one, 185 pound defensive back can lock down opposing receivers and lay incredible hits. Kennedy Urlacher is officially listed as a safety on 247 Sports, but he has the ability to play as a corner back as well. Urlacher is a physical, high football IQ style player, much like his father. He can throw opposing players around and get to the spot before they do as well.
Urlacher takes intelligent angles and determines where the ball carrier will go before they are able to get there. The 2024 recruit currently holds offers from Nebraska, Iowa, New Mexico, Penn State, and Kansas to name a few. The Badgers are the most recent team to get in on the amazing prospect, with a tough recruiting road ahead to secure Urlacher.
While his father may have ties to New Mexico, it seems like Urlacher will land elsewhere. Arizona is a school that has pushed hard in particular since Urlacher is from Chandler. Urlacher is ranked as the 20th player overall in Arizona for the 2024 recruiting class. He also is ranked as the 62nd safety overall in the class, but there is still plenty of time for Urlacher to continue to prove himself.
Picking up the son of a Hall of Fame player is always a plus. While Kennedy is not the same player as his father, he offers a different type of speed and football intelligence that sets him apart. Often, you can see shades of his father in his style of play and overall ability. The Badgers would secure a serious boost if they are able to land Kennedy down the line.
