The Wisconsin Badgers made a big splash in hiring Luke Fickell his offseason. A new head coach also meant that many of the coordinator positions would change as well. Former Badgers offensive coordinator Bobby Engram has landed a new job in the NFL.

Former Badgers Offensive Coordinator Lands NFL Gig
Engram was announced as the offensive coordinator in January 2022 under then-head coach Paul Chryst. It was a big hire as Engram had a lot of NFL experience as a coach for the 49ers and the Ravens. After Chryst was let go, the Badgers decided to move on from Engram as well. Now, Engram has landed another NFL gig. It was announced today that he will be the wide receivers coach for the Washington Commanders.

Great To See Engram Land A Job
While the Wisconsin offense did not inspire anybody last season, I don’t think Engram was entirely at fault. Chryst was not the right fit for the Badgers and that trickled down to the coordinators. Even though it meant letting go of a lot of great coaches, it was time for the Badgers to clean house. Bringing in a whole new set of coaches is going to reinvigorate the program. However, it is tough to see good coaches like Engram go so it was great to see him land another job with the Commanders.
Engram definitely gets to coach a great group of receivers in Washington. The Badgers also have the excitement of Phil Longo and his offense along with a glut of tantalizing talent. Ultimately, I think it is a win for both sides.
