The Badgers are continuing to add depth through the transfer portal. On Thursday, they received yet another commitment from CB Cedrick Dort out of Kentucky. He is the third corner added this offseason, joining Justin Clark from Toledo and Jay Shaw out of UCLA.
Meet Cedrick Dort
With the Badgers losing every starter from last season’s secondary, these additions are definitely needed. Dort is a grad transfer, so the Badgers are getting a player with quite a bit of experience. He has proven to be better against the run as opposed to passing. However, he is two years removed from a season where he allowed the lowest completion percentage in college football (28.6%).
Dort, a three-star recruit out of Florida, was originally offered a scholarship by the Badgers after high school. He isn’t coming in with the PFF grades that Shaw had last year, but Dort should be a major piece of the Badgers’ secondary in 2022.
It’ll be interesting to see how returnees such as Dean Engram and Alexander Smith fit into the picture come spring ball.
