Badgers power forward Tyler Wahl announced that he would be back for another season as he uses his covid year. After the loss of Jordan Davis, there were question marks as to who else may transfer or if Wahl would return for another season.
What this means for the roster
The badgers get their starting power forward back for next year. Even though he struggled with consistency after returning from an ankle injury, anytime you can get an impact player back, you’ll take it. Greg Gard has spoken about how the program needs an injection of talent and depth. Any extra shooters or scorers added before next season will make Wahl’s like easier as he was more efficient the year prior when he wasn’t relied on to score as much.
With Wahl set to return, this could lead to another transfer or two being announced in the coming weeks. Him returning means there are fewer minutes up for grabs next season and the coaches actively looking for roster upgrades through the transfer portal.
