The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off yet another extremely successful season that fell short in the NCAA Tournament.  Wisconsin would finish with an overall record of 27-10, made it to the Big Ten Championship game, and lost to BYU in the second round of March Madness.

While there will certainly be some stars Wisconsin needs to replace, the future of the program looks extremely bright. However, one former highly touted recruit will be looking for yet another home.

According to college basketball beat reporter Jacey Zembal:

Seton Hall sophomore center Gus Yalden has entered the transfer portal after averaging 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Yalden was ranked No. 114 overall by Rivals in the class of 2023 and went to Wisconsin his first year.

The La Porte, Indiana, native joined Greg Gard’s program as the 122nd best recruit in the class and the 17th best center. In contrast to fellow 2023 commits John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, Yalden didn’t see the court his freshman year.

In a Dec. 8 loss to Oklahoma State, Yelden had an 11-minute, eight-point, three-rebound performance. He also recorded a 10-minute, six-point, five-rebound performance in a Nov. 9 loss to Fordham. Finally, he had a 13-minute, six-point, two-steal performance against Marquette on Feb. 18.
