It has been a slow week on the recruiting front of Badgers football. Even though there aren’t a lot of offers to recap, we do have some cut down lists.
Dyzier Carter- WR/S Class of 2026
Dyzier is a 6′, 180 pound athlete out of Virginia. Virginia isn’t known for being a football power house but scoring 16 touchdowns in your sophomore season is impressive non the less. His tape is impressive as he shows the ability to go up and get the ball along with beating defenders with his speed. He also does a good job at selling the fakes on his routes which isn’t something you see young receivers often do. Even though he does play defense in high school, he appears to be heading towards offense in college. Commitment lean: His biggest offers so far are Miami, Penn State and Wisconsin so getting in early could be a good thing here.
DaSaahn Brame- TE Class of 2025
DaSaahn is a 6’6″, 230 pounds tight end out of Kansas. He’s already being targeting by some big program, getting in early could be big as his recruitment could very well take off even more. All of his hudl tapes are focusing on him blocking which is a switch from the norm. With his height, it’ll be interesting to see how he develops as a pass catcher. Commitment lean: No lean yet but does have offers from Michigan, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, along with the major home state programs.
Josiah Martin- WR Class of 2024
The Badgers made the top 12 for the 3 star wide receiver from Texas. The other 11 schools are Baylor, Penn State, Arkansas, Tennessee, Cal, Purdue, Boston College, Mississippi, Houston and TCU. He would be a great add for the Badgers as his film shows a college ready receiver. He has speed but it’s his route running that truly shines. He sets up defenders very well and has a great release if he’s ever jammed. At 6′ and 170 pounds he isn’t a huge receiver, but would be a great at to the receiver room.
Elijah Moore- WR Class of 2024
Wisconsin made the top 10 for another 2024 receiver, this time, a 4 star recruit out of Maryland. The other 9 schools that made the cut are Oregon, Penn State, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Michigan, Maryland and Florida. Standings at 6’4″ and weighing in at 190 pounds, he’s a much different receiver that others on this list. With that said, his tape shows great route running and fantastic hands. With his size, he’s able to over power defensive backs. He doesn’t appear to have blazing speed but it’s easy to envision him being a first down machine in college. His ability to set up the defender across from him and consistently take advantage of missteps is impressive.
Jerrae Hawkins Jr- ATH Class of 2024
Jerrae posted his top 6 schools and Wisconsin was listed along with Florida, home state West Virginia, Louisville, Miami and Penn State. Standing and 5’9 and 165 pounds, he’ll likely be an offensive playmaker of some kind at the next level. His tape is straight out of a video game as he makes players miss with ease. He has impressive straight line speed but his change of direction is what makes him so dangerous in the open field. He’s a true threat to score any time he gets the ball in his hands.
A shorter recap today but we should see more cut down lists as the 2024 recruits close in on their decisions.
