Milwaukee Brewers rookie Oliver Dunn demolished his first career home run in the big leagues on Friday night against the Seattle Mariners.  The Brewers won this game in walk-off fashion by a score of 6-5 and Dunn’s 413 foot blast was one of three solo home runs from the Crew.  His blast off of Logan Gilbert will be something that he will remember forever and thankfully he was able to get the baseball back afterwards. The Milwaukee Brewers made a successful waiver claim on Friday, April 5 as they acquired Vladimir Gutierrez.  He is a pitcher that they are familiar with due to his history with the Cincinnati Reds.  Upon being claimed he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. Vladimir Gutierrez was claimed off of waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers.   Entering 2024 Vladimir Gutierrez was pitching for the Miami Marlins.  He joined their organization on a minor league deal, was added to the 40-man roster to help with their pitching shortage, and then was designated for assignment after throwing three innings. The Milwaukee Brewers are continuing to make moves early into the 2024 regular season.  One of their more recent additions has been catcher Francisco Mejia.  He agreed to a minor league deal with the team and will report to Triple-A Nashville. Entering 2024 the Milwaukee Brewers have one of the leagues top farm systems.  Prospects like Jackson Chourio, Joey Ortiz, and Oliver Dunn are starting the year off in the big leagues, but where are some of the other top prospects been assigned to? Milwaukee Brewers spring training standout Eric Haase did not break camp with the big league team.  The 31 year old was the hottest hitter on the team, but due to a combination of Gary Sanchez signing and Haase being out of minor league options he was designated for assignment prior to Opening Day. New York Mets pitcher Yohan Ramirez and manager Carlos Mendoza have received suspensions from MLB due to their involvement in Saturday’s incident involving Rhys Hoskins of the Milwaukee Brewers.  Ramirez is being suspended for three games and Mendoza one game.
