Milwaukee Brewers, Brewers News, Brewers vs Mets, Jackson Chourio

It is the beginning of a new era of Milwaukee Brewers baseball. Craig Counsell, the winningest manager in franchise history who led the Brewers to the postseason in five of the past six seasons, ditched the team and his hometown to manage the Chicago Cubs. Pat Murphy was promoted from bench coach to manager to take his place, and former Brewers All-Star Rickie Weeks was hired as associate manager. Additionally, Milwaukee is continuing its movement of bringing their next crop of top prospects up to the Majors, and relying on them to win games. This started last season with Brice…

Green Bay Packers, David Bakhtiari, Aaron Jones

For months, Green Bay Packers fans wondered if the 2023 season was going to be the last one in which they would be able to see running back Aaron Jones wearing the Green and Gold. To be fair, whether or not Jones would be back seems to have been a big question in each of the past few offseasons, but this year seemed all-the-more dubious. That, of course, was because Jones is set to have a $17.5 million cap hit in 2024 after being injured for a big part of 2023. He is also on the wrong side of 30.…

Green Bay Packers, wide receivers

The Green Bay Packers offense was under an intense microscope from even before the start of organized team activities. Of course, that is because Brian Gutekunst and the organization decided to trade future Hall of Famer and four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets and finally make Jordan Love their starting quarterback. Additionally, they let both of their veteran wide receivers, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, walk in free agency. Both joined Rodgers on the Jets. Love was left with a pass catching group made up of four second-year wide receivers (Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure,…

NFL analyst thinks former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Russell Wilson should join the New York Nets to backup Aaron Rodgers

Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Russell Wilson had a tumultuous 2023 season. New Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton never really got along with Wilson, and the team threatened to bench him late in the season over a contract dispute. Needless to say, Wilson’s days in Denver are going to be over soon. The problem, of course, is that Wilson has five years and over $200 million left on his contract. That is not going to be an easy contract to move, though there are plenty of quarterback-needy teams that may want a player like Wilson to start for a few…

Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Ollie is to become the interim head coach of the Brooklyn Nets

The Milwaukee Bucks are no longer the only team to have fired their head coach midseason this year. The Brooklyn Nets fired head coach Jacque Vaughn on Monday morning. Brooklyn is a woeful 21-22, 2.5 games out of the final play-in spot for the NBA Playoffs. Brooklyn’s decision to move on from Vaughn is the end of a rollercoaster relationship between the two parties. Vaughn was originally hired by the Nets to be head coach Kenny Atkinson’s top assistant in the 2016-17 season. He remained in that role until 2020 when Atkinson stepped down as head coach in the middle…

The Milwaukee Brewers non-tendered Brandon Woodruff earlier this winter, making him an unrestricted free agent. It was certainly not a move that many predicted would happen going into the 2023 season. After all, Woodruff was 13-4 with a 3.05 ERA in 2022 and had come in fifth in Cy Young Award voting in 2021. If anything, many thought the Brewers would be forced to trade him, much like they traded Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles. However, as talks between the Brewers and Burnes soured, many began to believe that maybe, just maybe, Milwaukee would be able to extend Woodruff…

Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard made the most of his first All-Star start. In the highest scoring contest in NBA All-Star Game history, which the Eastern Conference won 211-186, Lillard scored 39 points (14/26 from the floor, 11/23 from three), grabbed three rebounds, and dished out six assists. He also drained multiple three-point shots from half-court, proving to everyone that, despite his struggles this season, he is still one of the best shooters in the game. For his efforts, Lillard was named All-Star Game MVP, joining Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only Bucks players to win the award. The announcement…

Milwaukee Bucks, Damian Lillard

The Milwaukee Bucks boasted two NBA All-Star starters for the 2024 annual contest, this time a return to the classic East versus West format. And now they can boast two All-Star Game MVP’s on their roster. Giannis Antetokounmpo took home the award in the 2020-21 NBA All-Star Game, but tonight it was his teammate, Damian Lillard, who took home the honor after a blistering 39-point performance. The game itself was the highest-scoring All-Star Game in NBA history, with the East winning 211-186. Karl Anthony-Towns led all scorers with 50 points for the West. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 23 points, seven rebounds,…

The Milwaukee Brewers are already going to be without two of their biggest cornerstone players from the past six seasons. Brandon Woodruff was non-tendered following should injuries that cost him most of last season and will keep him from pitching in 2024 as well. Corbin Burnes, as many expected, was traded ahead of Spring Training for infielder Joey Ortiz and left-handed pitcher DL Hall. And, of course, Milwaukee is moving forward without former manager Craig Counsell, who ditched his hometown team for the Chicago Cubs. While these moves might have indicated that the Brewers were going into rebuilding mode, the…

Green Bay Packers, David Bakhtiari

It appears that David Bakhtiari’s time with the Green Bay Packers is coming to an end. The three-time Pro Bowl left tackle, who has also made five All-Pro teams (two First Team All-Pros and three Second Team All-Pros) has missed the majority of the last three seasons due to knee injuries. Note: that is the plural form of the word “injury.” Bakhtiari first injured his knee in a non-contact drill during practice on December 31, 2020. He suffered a torn ACL that cost him the entire 2021 season, except for playing a few snaps in the season finale against the…
