The Milwaukee Brewers have made the playoffs three years in a row.  That is the longest streak in franchise history.  What is astounding about this feat is that they have accomplished it without long-term reliable mainstays at first base and third base.  Recently, we detailed the woeful revolving door of first basemen since Prince Fielder’s departure.  Here, we take a look at how the third base position is in danger of following that same trend. The Last Mainstay at Third Following their postseason run in 2011, the Milwaukee Brewers made a splash free agent signing (we used to make those…

News broke yesterday that former Packers defensive back Tramon Williams was visiting Green Bay.  Earlier in the week, he had been released by the Baltimore Ravens making him available to any of the four remaining playoff teams.  While there is no official word on whether or not he will sign, that got me thinking about what other former Packers I would like to see win a ring with this team.  Here, I present to you three logical possibilities. Former Wide Receiver: Jordy Nelson Jordy Nelson is one of the most popular Packers players in recent memory.  After he was not…

When Rashan Gary was drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, many Packers’ fans were incensed.  If the Packers were going to draft a pass rusher, they wanted Brian Burns.  Burns was eventually drafted 16th overall by the Carolina Panthers.  As 2019 went on, it was clear the Rashan Gary had a high ceiling, but had work to do.  Now, as we enter the week before the NFC Championship, it is clear that Gary is closer than ever to that ceiling, and Packers’ fans should be very excited about that. An Up-and-Down Rookie Season One of…

Khris Middleton has received his fair share of criticism for Milwaukee Bucks fans.  The small forward, it is said, is not a legit second option on a championship caliber team.  The criticism came mainly due to his lack of production in the playoffs.  With his play this year, though, it is time for everyone to recognize this simple fact: he is, in fact, the perfect second option for this team. Middleton’s Early Bucks Career Khris Middleton arrived in Milwaukee the same year as Giannis Antetokounmpo.  Middleton’s first two years with the Bucks were rather underwhelming, much like the Bucks themselves. …

Entering the game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Milwaukee Bucks led the NBA in point differential.  On average, the Bucks were winning their games by 11.4 points.  This has been a trend for the Bucks under Mike Budenholzer.  However, come playoff time, the Bucks have struggled to win close games.  Simply put, winning so many regular season games by blowout did nothing to prepare the team for the grind of a hard-fought playoff series.  The Bucks gained some much needed close-game experience tonight, finally defeating the Mavs for the first time in nearly two years. The Two-Time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo…

Perhaps the biggest offseason addition the Bucks made was trading for Jrue Holiday.  The price was steep.  In order to get him, the Bucks had to give up Eric Bledsoe, George Hill, and three first-round draft picks.  While Holiday and the Bucks are still figuring out the best way to play together, early results show that he is a massive upgrade in the Bucks’ starting lineup.  One of the things that will begin to endear him to the Bucks’ fan base his his “no-fear” and “bully like” attitude towards anyone who tries to defend him and who he is defending. …

The Packers clinched the NFC’s top seed and enjoyed a first round bye during Super Wild Card Weekend.  The Rams, on the other hand, got in as a sixth seed Wild Card.  Last week, the Rams defeated the third-seed Seattle Seahawks, earning a chance to take on the Packers at Lambeau Field. The Packers are favored to win this weekend by 6.5-points, according to sportsbettingdime.com. The Rams’ Regular Season The Los Angeles Rams ended the season as the NFL’s top defense.  They allowed just 281.9 yard per game and 18.5 yards per game.  Their brightest offensive star was rookie running…

Even before the season began, it was a foregone conclusion that James Harden would not end the season on the Rockets’ roster.  He turned down a lucrative extension, he spent time in clubs without a mask, and made it known he was not happy in Houston.  Finally, the Rockets were able to swing a trade that sent the disgruntled superstar to Brooklyn. While the only mention of Milwaukee in the trade is in a long-gone first round pick, the Bucks are, in fact, winners in this trade for other reasons. The Nets’ Egotistical Trio Entering the season, it was widely…

The 2019 offseason was quite an interesting one for the Green Bay Packers.  For the first time in over 10 years, there was a new head coach.  Free agents Za’Darrius Smith, Preston Smith, and Adrian Amos were brought in.  With two first round picks, the Packers drafted Darnell Savage and Rashan Gary, much to the dismay of many fans.  Indeed, their rookie seasons were filled with some highs and many lows.  However, in 2020, the pair of first-round picks made incredible jumps that helped raise the Packers’ defense to ranks it had not seen in 10 years.  Here, we highlight…

The Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic will meet for the only time this season tonight at 6:00 CST.  The game is a matchup of the opening round of the Playoffs last season.  During that series, the Bucks and Magic famously boycotted one of the games in protest of the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, WI.  Milwaukee won the series 4-1. The Bucks through 10 Games The Bucks sit at 6-4 through 10 games into the 2020-2021 NBA season.  They are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference.  Milwaukee is led by Giannis Antetokounmpo who is averaging 27.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, and…
