One thing the Milwaukee Brewers never have a problem doing is acquiring outfield depth. Now sources say that they are in the mix for outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. https://twitter.com/ByRobertMurray/status/1363909034999439371 The 30 year old signed a one-year, $11MM last season with the Boston Red Sox. Bradley Jr. has spent all eight seasons of his MLB career in Boston. It had appeared the Brewers were all set this year for the outfield, but Milwaukee and David Stearns is always interested in additional depth if it’s a player they truly want. Current Brewers Outfield Right now, the starting outfield is Christian Yelich,…

It’s easy to forget how crazy of a season 2020 was. A week after the shortened season started, the Milwaukee Brewers’ home opening series with the St. Louis Cardinals was postponed due to multiple positive tests of Covid-19 from the Cardinals team. Shortly after that, Lorenzo Cain opted out for the season. He became the second player to opt out, and joined over a dozen players who sat out for the season. Not a lot of other players did, and Cain was arguably the biggest name. It was a devastating blow to the team and fans. Cain’s Return 2021 will…

For the third year in a row, Christian Yelich has made the top 10 on Major League Baseball’s Top 100 Right Now. He is honored with the number nine slot this year. Yelich was ranked number two in 2020 behind Mike Trout. Mike Trout also took number one in this year’s list. Make that at least three years now. After his MVP season in 2018, Yelich was ranked eighth. This year’s ranking would make it his lowest ranking in the past three. The ranking seems a bit low, but not ultimately surprising after Yelich’s disappointing 2020 season. 2020 Season a…

Do the Milwaukee Brewers have their next Wade Miley reclamation-type starting pitcher? The Wisconsin native has been signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League camp. The 34-year old spent the last five seasons with the Detroit Tigers and now gets to stay with a Midwest team. He signed a five year, $110MM contract in 2015 after four solid years of starts for the Washington Nationals. Detroit Years His recent years in Detroit were not his strongest. He ended with ERAs of 4.87, 6.08, 4.52 and 6.91 between 2015 and 2019. In 2020, Zimmerman was placed…

Could former Milwaukee Brewer and relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress return to the team and complete an outstanding bullpen? Signs are starting to point to yes. The main buzz right now for Milwaukee is bringing in a third baseman or starting pitcher. Will they sign Justin Turner or Maikel Franco for the corner opposite Keston Hiura and Danny Vogelbach? Can Taijuan Walker or Rich Hill bolster their starting pitching? [pickup_prop id=”3074″] Obviously the big signing was Kolten Wong. The Brewers now have a Gold Glove, a new first baseman in Hiura and their new second baseman on a team-friendly deal for…

The Milwaukee Brewers had the first Austrailian player to ever appear in an All-Star game, and no one can ever take that away from them.  If you didn’t follow the Brewers in the 1990s, there was a catcher who played for almost the entire decade for the Crew: Dave Wayne Nilsson. Dave Nilsson: Career Brewer Nilsson played his entire MLB career with the Brewers. He debuted in 1992, playing 51 games and ending with .232 batting average, 25 RBIs and four home runs. Nilsson played the next six seasons with the Brewers in the starting line-up. He ended with a…

The Houston Texans are releasing wide receiver Kenny Stills and will be subject to waivers. Although it might be hard to drop to Green Bay, the Packers would be wise to pick up a veteran wide receiver. Especially after a series of wide receiver injuries and now that Marquez Valdes-Scantling might be questionable. Stills’ Details Stills was traded from the Dolphins in 2019 when the Texans were dealing with wide receiver injuries and depth. They did trade DeAndre Hopkins during the offseason, but the receiving corps still became crowded with Will Fuller, Randall Cobb and Brandin Cooks. The 28-year-old was…

Let me say first that I am writing this on November 4th, 2020. How is the Brewers future? Still insane? Ed Sedar is an advisor? Andy Haines is still there? Madness. Anyways, I say today’s date because a million things could have already happened during the offseason for the Milwaukee Brewers or when you are reading this. Free agency is open, and the Brewers have a lot of roster spots to fill. Myself, along with a lot of other Brewers fans, are concerned how those holes are going to be filled. The First of November Free agency for Major League…

Avisail Garcia swings at a pitch against the A's in Spring Training last season.

When the Milwaukee Brewers signed Avisail Garcia during the 2019 offseason, it was a move that surprised people. But, it also made sense. Garcia would add outfield depth behind Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun. But instead of being the fourth outfielder, he almost immediately had to be the starting center fielder and lead-off hitter. With all things considered, Garcia was a signing needed for outfield depth. Was he worth his two year, $20 million deal with a third-year club option? Next year will probably show a better picture than this season. 2020 Stats Avisail Garcia, along with the…

It’s hard not to be bias when it comes to Brent Suter and the Milwaukee Brewers. My entire sports Twitter personality is based on being his pet Raptor. Thankfully, giving Suter praise during 2020 isn’t hard. Suter did it all in 2020. He was a relief pitcher, starting pitcher, a huge locker room presence and very involved when it comes to helping the community. Most importantly, he was Doc Brown. Back to the Season Video This year’s Brewers season parody video was no let down. Brent Suter played Doc Brown and was a joy to watch. Keston Hiura was Marty…
