The Milwaukee Brewers find themselves in a situation most wouldn’t have predicted 50+ games into the 2021 season. The team needs to find some bullpen help. Drew Rasmussen and J.P. Feyereisen have been traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. Angel Perdomo and Justin Topa are on the injured list. Bobby Wahl is now off the injured list, but still trying to get to 100%. Eric Yardley is not having a good season. Brent Suter has been good in complete relief innings, but not the best when runners are already on base. The newly acquired relievers Trevor Richards, Patrick Weigel and…

The Milwaukee Brewers signed Hernan Perez to a minor league contract a few weeks ago. The signing brought smiles to the faces of a lot Brewers fans. Perez had played almost 600 games with Milwaukee between 2015 and 2019. Last year he played for the Chicago Cubs (why?), and played for the Washington Nationals to start this season before being DFA’d. Perez doesn’t represent the solution to Milwaukee’s offensive problems. He’s a career .250 hitter, who had his best season in 2017 with 14 home runs and 51 RBIs. Perez represents a time in Milwaukee fans won’t forget. A rebuilding…

After a huge Game 1 victory on Thursday over the Los Angeles Dodgers and ace Trevor Bauer, the Milwaukee Brewers had their second game of the four game series Friday night. The Dodgers had announced earlier in the week they would be having a “bullpen day” on the mound, while the Brewers would send out Freddy Peralta. He came into the game with a 2-0 record and 2.19 ERA over 24.2 innings pitched. Earlier in the day, some fun and random news was announced regarding the Brewers. https://twitter.com/SophiaMinnaert/status/1388201747429138432 It turns out, Jordan Zimmerman had an opt-out day of April 30th.…

The Milwaukee Brewers are now without veteran starting pitchers Brett Anderson and Josh Lindblom. The Brewers might be fine for the next series or two with only four starters, but what about after that? May could be a very long month for the club. https://twitter.com/Brewers/status/1385987577229062144 Both pitchers are on the 10-Day injured list, but there is a chance that Anderson could end up there longer. You definitely don’t want to rush one of your starting pitchers back into action unless they are fully recovered and feel comfortable on the mound. https://twitter.com/Brewers/status/1386015727883276294 Luckily for the Brewers, they have a very deep…

First of all, Happy Birthday Travis Shaw. The Ohio native turned 31 on Friday, April 16th. Here’s hoping to 10 more seasons as a Brewer! If you haven’t yet, head over to a social media and send him a nice message or good vibes. Positivity goes a long way. Now onto the article. https://twitter.com/Brewers/status/1383161973496483841 At the beginning of 2021, one major offseason discussion is who would play the corner infielders for the Milwaukee Brewers. It turns out, they only needed to sign one of the two positions and were able to solve those problems. Technically there were two signings, but…

It started as the debut of American Family Field, Bally Sports on television instead of Fox Sports Wisconsin and fans back in the stands. It ended with a victory and a promising start for the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee had a perfect start to their newly-named ballpark. A tribute to Hank Aaron. New lights and features for everyone to see the first time. A beautiful National Anthem sung by 12-year-old Racine native Liamani Segura. No one knew it would lead to one of the most exciting Opening Days in recent memory. Woodruff and Maeda It wasn’t hard to tell that Brandon…

With the return of baseball, the writers at WSH have decided to make a series of articles dedicated to breaking down each position on the Milwaukee Brewers. When it comes to the shortstop position, the Brewers have nothing to worry about. Sure, there is a pretty clear position battle right now. But even if both of your main two guys get hurt, you have a utility player and promising prospect ready to play every day for the team. Let’s break it down. Orlando Arcia Although he has been getting some looks and time at third base, one can assume that…

The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that Freddy Peralta will be a part of the 2021 starting rotation. Peralta will be the team’s fifth starting pitcher to begin the season. https://twitter.com/WillSammon/status/1375210863209025537 Josh Lindblom will begin the year in the bullpen. Lindblom was in the starting rotation last season after signing a three-year, $9.125MM contract. Lindblom ended the 2020 season with a 2-4 record and 5.16 ERA over 12 appearances and 10 starts. If Peralta succeeds as a starting pitcher for the entire season, the Brewers will have a reliable starting pitcher for the foreseeable future. In February of 2020, Freddy signed…

All aboard the Milwaukee Brewers Garrett Mitchell hype train. Toot! Toot! The 20th pick in the 2020 draft has had an impressive first Spring Training for Milwaukee. Even though it is a small sample size, it is amazing that the outfielder dropped to the Brewers last year. It’s hard to guarantee the success of a player this early, but if Mitchell continues to play at a high level throughout 2021, is there a chance he is part of the September calls ups? Anything is possible. There could be injuries, trades and if for some silly reason Ryan Braun doesn’t return…

Between October 2020 and the end of January 2021, the only first baseman on the Milwaukee Brewers’ roster was Daniel Vogelbach. That all changed on February 5th when the Brewers signed second baseman and Gold Glove winner Kolten Wong. The signing filled two positions for Milwaukee, sending Keston Hiura to first. Despite not having any real experience at the position, the team expects Hiura to be the everyday first baseman in 2021. That leaves Vogelbach as the only true first base backup. It almost moves him to the bench without a designated hitter spot to be placed in. So what…
