It’s never fun to be a Debbie Downer, but there is a good chance that the Milwaukee Brewers will not play their Opening Day game this Thursday. The game is currently set for April 7th at 1:20 CST at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. Surprisingly, the Brewers and Chicago Cubs have only met two times on Opening Day. Every time has been at Wrigley. The lockout week-long delay in the season means the Brewers technically weren’t supposed to start in Chicago. The original Opening Day was on March 31st at American Family Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks. If you haven’t…

There has been a healthy (and gearing towards unhealthy) discussion among fans and on social media regarding who should start in center field for the Brewers next week. At first glance, it is Lorenzo Cain’s job and has been for basically the past four seasons. But Tyrone Taylor is making a case for a possible upset and surprise start in center on April 7th. The 28-year-old Taylor has grinded and worked his way onto the Brewers roster. The past few seasons, the strategy from Milwaukee was to stack the outfield, which has worked out in their favor. Cain, Ryan Braun,…

While Luis Urias’s injury might be minor, there is a real possibility that he won’t be playing Opening Day on April 7, 2022. Urias suffered a left quad injury, and will be out a minimum of two weeks. The Brewers already have a pretty full roster, and minimal options remain on the third base free agent market. It’s a disappointing blow for Urias and the team. Luis came into the delayed spring training bulked up a bit, and is expected to have a pretty big season. With Urias sidelined, the true remaining third baseman on the Brewers roster is Mike…

If NBA officials continue to not call a Flagrant 2 foul on players who blatantly throw themselves into Giannis Antetokounmpo, it’s going to lead to him being injured. Your reigning NBA champions are now without their best player and arguably the best play in the NBA. Flagrant 2 fouls have been trending due to a foul Grayson Allen committed against Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls. On January 21st,…

Being in a lockout is stupid! Now with that being said, we still need to look toward the 2022 Brewers season. After a disappointing appearance in the playoffs after clinching the NL Central last season, the Brewers’ plan is to finally take that next step and reach the World Series. They have one of the best rotations in the baseball with six-to-seven serviceable starters. They still have a solid group of bullpen pitchers and young arms with a chance to impress. The offense should take positive steps next season. Players like Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura have a great chance…

Our season report card series continues. Here we will be looking at how Brent Suter performed during the 2021 season. Suter is now the Brewers’ most-tenured player. After Manny Pina signed a two-year deal with Atlanta Braves, he no longer holds that title. Pina had been with the team since December of 2015. The 2022 season will hit five years of service for Brent with Milwaukee. He made his MLB debut on August 19th, 2016. Suter currently has a career 3.46 ERA over 142 games. He has a record of 31-16 and one save recorded. The Raptor was first used…

The Pittsburgh Pirates made some roster announcements on November 29th, which lead to one of the biggest Brewer killers over the past few seasons being designated for assignment. Moran has spent the last four years with the Pirates. The 29-year-old was originally traded to Pittsburgh in the deal that sent Gerrit Cole to the Houston Astros. With Moran being DFA’d, that means every piece the Pirates received back for the star pitcher is now gone. Colin is a career .267 hitter with 45 home runs, 216 home runs and a career .747 OPS over 460 games. He played only 16…

It’s shocking to write this, but the Milwaukee Brewers probably don’t need to sign any starting pitchers this off-season. They could definitely sign someone like Brett Anderson to another one-year deal for additional depth. But for the first time in a very long time, the Brewers have a solid rotation. And not only that, a rotation with years of control and youth on their side. Milwaukee’s bullpen was in or near the Top 10 last season, but two late injuries definitely hurt them in the playoffs. Devin Williams breaking his hand and Brent Suter off the playoff roster with an…
