Under Paul Chryst at Wisconsin, June has always been a successful month for closing in on their recruiting targets. This in large part has been due to summer official visits and camp offers. Justin Taphorn

Justin Taphorn from Pekin Illinois took to Twitter Friday to announce he will be joining Wisconsin’s 2020-2021 team as a preferred walk on (PWO). The 6’4″ guard joins Arrowhead forward Carter Gilmore as the two known walk ons coming this fall. Taphorn comes from a basketball family, in which his dad played at UW-Green Bay, his uncle played at Illinois State, and most recently his older brother played at Northwestern. A little over a year ago, California native Deacon Hill pulled the trigger early and committed to the Wisconsin Badgers. Kansas State & Nevada were his only other offers, yet WI QB Coach Jon Budmayr saw some special qualities he liked about Hill. Religion Vincent Thomas Lombardi was born on June 11th, 1913. Both of Lombardi’s grandparents were immigrants of Italy. Vince and his siblings were often victims to ethnic discrimination that existed against Italian immigrants during that time. Growing up in a Catholic household, church was a must on Sunday’s. Wisconsin gains yet another June commitment as class of 2021 cornerback Ricardo Hallman announced his commitment to the Badgers. Hallman becomes the 15th known commitment for this class. The Rivals’ four-star recruit becomes yet another defensive back from Southern Florida to become a Badger. Wisconsin beats out Penn State, Michigan, Arkansas, Louisville and a host of others. Boom The dominoes continue to fall for Wisconsin as Iowa native TJ Bollers becomes the 14th commitment in the 2021 class. Bollers had a top group of schools recruiting him: Wisconsin, Alabama, Iowa State, California, Nebraska and Northwestern. The consensus four star prospect joins three other future Badgers to publicly announce their commitments since Memorial Day. The former Wisconsin Badger, Quintez Cephus, was selected 166th overall in the 5th round in this year’s NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Cephus led all Badgers last season in receptions, receiving TDs, and receiving yards. Cephus was the 23rd receiver drafted out of 37 in this year’s draft. Former Wisconsin Badger center, Tyler Biadasz, was drafted in the 4th rouind by the Dallas Cowboys. Biadasz, selected 146th overall, will have the opportunity to come in and compete on an offensive line that just lost a former Badger, Travis Frederick. Former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Zack Baun was drafted in the 3rd round by the New Orleans Saints. Baun was selected 74th overall and might be one of the biggest steals in the entire draft. Zack Baun was projected on some boards to go in the 1st or 2nd rounds and might be one of the steals of the draft. Baun gets to join a defense that ranked 11th overall in yards allowed per game in the NFL last season. He joins a team that will look to use his explosive ability to rush the passer. Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor has been drafted in the 2nd round of the NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Taylor was the 41st overall selection in the NFL draft after the Colts traded up to get him. He has an opportunity to join an organization that has pro-bowlers along the offensive line and is determined to run the ball.
