The 2022 NFL draft took place in Las Vegas this weekend. Aside from a fantastic draft from the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin fans also enjoyed seeing some Badgers head to new homes. Here are all the Badgers drafted and my thoughts on how their rookie year could look. Leo Chenal First Badger off the board was linebacker Leo Chenal. Not much of a surprise considering the year that Chenal had this season for Wisconsin. The Kansas City Chiefs picked Chenal at the end of round 3 with the 103rd pick. The Chiefs defense has been up and down since Patrick…

Johnny Davis has announced that his much anticipated announcement on whether or not to join the NBA will come on Thursday afternoon.  NBA Today If you are a person who likes to speculate or read between the lines. Johnny is making his announcement on ESPN’s show “NBA Today”. It seems to me that Johnny will be headed to the NBA like most of us expected. If Davis does move on from Madison he will be joining Ohio State’s E.J. Lidell, Purdue guard Sasha Stavinavich, and Michigan state wing Gabe Brown who all have announced their deductions to go pro recently…

Not even 24 hours after the season ended for the Badgers, roster changes are already happening. Freshman forward Matthew Mors would be entering the transfer portal. Thanks to the NCAA’s “one-time transfer rule” all NCAA athletes are allowed to transfer one-time and play right away. So, Mors is not alone as we have seen hundreds of players enter the portal. Mors’ Freshman Year Unfortunately, we were not able to see much of Matthew Mors this season. The news that the three star recruit and 3-time South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year was redshirting was disappointing to some Badger fans.…

A trip to the Sweet Sixteen on the line, at “Kohl Center East” Wisconsin clashed with the 11th seed Iowa State. The Badgers could not overcome the poor shooting, injury to Chucky, and turnovers. The Badgers lose 54-49 and the miracle season ends in the round of 32. Here are my thoughts.  Offensive Woes First off, Credit to Iowa State and their defense. That was without a doubt the toughest defensive team Wisconsin has faced all season. Even before the injury to Chucky Hepburn, Wisconsin wasn’t exactly lighting it up offensively. After the injury, the Badgers limped into halftime not…

2022 March Madness is here! Hope all my Badger fans stayed up for this very late tip-off from Fiserv Forum. Badger faithful showed up and was loud all game. A great start to the NCAA tournament, Wisconsin takes down a formidable opponent in Colgate 67-60. They move on to the round of 32 to face Iowa State Sunday at 5:10 central. DEFENSE No doubt about it, defense is the main reason Wisconsin was able to win this one. Colgate came out in the second half guns blazing and hit six of their first seven three point attempts. Let’s not forget…

Wisconsin and Michigan State in a Quarterfinal matchup. After splitting the series this season, this game was a highly anticipated grudge match. In the end, Wisconsin couldn’t overcome the dreaded shooting and were eliminated in the first round losing 69-63. It is the first time in Big Ten tournament history that the top two seeds lost on the same day with Illinois losing this morning. Here’s my thoughts on the game.  Ice Cold Wisconsin had its worst offensive half of this season. Not a very opportune time for that to happen, however they only trailed by two at the break.…

Today, Johnny Davis was announced as the Big Ten player of the year. What an honor it is for Davis as he was competing against great players like Kofi Cockburn, Keegan Murray, and Jaden Ivey. In the end Davis wins the award after averaging 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists per game. He was the only player in the conference to lead his team in all three major categories. He also is the first Wisconsin player since Michael Finley in 1994-1995 to average 20 PPG in a season. What an incredible season from the Sophomore guard from La Crosse,…

Senior day in Madison. Not only were the Badgers sending off three great seniors who have given so much to the program. They also were playing for the outright Big Ten regular season championship along with the number one seed in the Big Ten tournament. Nebraska may be the worst team in the conference, but they were coming off a huge win at Ohio State their last time out. Nebraska came out swinging in the first half and punched the Badgers in the mouth. After Wisconsin responded, the Cornhuskers got the last laugh with a 12-2 run to finish the…

Wisconsin Game

March Madness is officially here! Tuesday night was possibly the biggest game in Kohl Center history. I think back to the 2014 matchup against Duke as the last major matchup in Madison. Number 8 Purdue rolled into town for a top-10 matchup against number 10 Wisconsin. With a win, the Badgers would secure at least a share of the Big Ten regular season championship. In 2020, Wisconsin went on that late season run that earned them a share. However, COVID-19 shut down the Big Ten tournament and NCAA tournament. Tonight, the Badgers once again are at the top, with a…

The border battle is one of the best rivalries in the Big Ten. Although Wisconsin has dominated the series as of late. Minnesota always seems to make the games very interesting. Last night was no different, as the Badgers squeaked out a 1 point win at The Barn 68-67. Here’s  three things.  Next Man Up For as long as I can remember, Wisconsin has always been a team built on the “next man up mentality”. This year however, they have been a little more reliant on their starters to carry the load.  Last night, the Badgers were without Lorne Bowman,…
