Former Patriots and Wisconsin Badger James White

Former Wisconsin Badger great James “Sweet Feet” White is retiring from the NFL after eight seasons. Not only has White overcome adversity on the field in the last few years. Off the field he played through the tragedy of losing his father in an accident that also critically injured his mother. To go along with missing almost the entire season last year due to a hip injury, White felt it was time to hang it up. The three-time Super Bowl champion is the definition of a pro. Here are some of my favorite moments from his time at Wisconsin and…

Rounding out our position previews for the Wisconsin Badgers, is the secondary group. This group has been a rollercoaster at times in recent years, and more so then ever Jim Leonhard has to have this group playing at a high level this season. Thanks to a few cornerback transfers, Leonhard has gone on the record saying he believes this may be the deepest cornerback group he’s had during his time in Madison. https://twitter.com/Evan_Flood/status/1554592318824513541 Cornerback Transfers After losing both Faion Hicks and Caesar Williams, who both were named to All-Big Ten honors, the Badgers went to the transfer portal for help.…

With the departure of both Leo Chanel and Jack Sanborn to the NFL, Wisconsin’s defensive group has to retool and replace the linebacker core. “Death row” as Leo Chanel liked to call it, was the Nations best linebacker duo last season and left some major shoes to fill. Star on the Edge Just like Keeanu Benton, Wisconsin has another NFL talent who will be lining up outside. OLB Nick Herbig displayed his talents last season, and the hope this year is to build off that. Herbig has already received some NFL buzz as one of the top linebacker prospects for…

Continuing the preview of each position group for Wisconsin football, we switch sides of the ball and take a look at the always impressive defensive group. To be more specific, today will be the defensive line who has some major holes to fill. Matt Henningsen who is now a member of the Denver Broncos. I think the Badgers front group doesn’t get enough credit for the role they play in the always stout defensive group under Jim Leonhard. Let’s take a look at the projected starters. Star in the Middle Keeanu Benton is a legit NFL talent. the 6’4 senior…

Wisconsin star Johnny Davis made his NBA Summer League debut tonight in Las Vegas. Johnny was selected 10th overall in the NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. A familiar foe awaited Davis in the desert tonight, former Purdue star Jaden Ivey who was selected 5th by the Detroit Pistons. Davis and Ivey had their share of battles last season, with Johnny dominating one of the matchups scoring 37 in a game at Purdue. Here are some takeaways from Johnnys first taste of NBA action. Slow Start A slow start for Johnny saw him attempt no shots in the first quarter.…

UCLA and USC are looking to join the Big Ten as early as 2024. This doesn’t make much sense, but as a fan, it’s intriguing.

The “Big Ten” may now be expanding from 14 schools to 16 after the breaking news this afternoon. Powerhouse California universities, UCLA and USC, might be on their way to the Big Ten. News that no one had really talked about, apparently the two Southern California schools look to join the conference in 2024. This is a confusing move for both the Big Ten and these schools. Just last year, the Big Ten announced its conference alliance with the PAC-12. Now just a year later are rumored to be taking the conference’s two biggest schools. Big Ten: The East and…

Wisconsin star Johnny Davis is headed to the Nation’s Capitol. With the tenth pick in the NBA draft, the Washington Wizards selected the former La Crosse standout Davis. Johnny bursted on to the National scene last year with some impressive scoring outputs. He carried a supposedly “undermanned” Badger team to a share of the Big Ten Championship. Johnny averaged 19.7 points per game, to go along with eight rebounds and two assists per game. He really stepped up when the lights were bright. Averaging 24 points per game against top-25 opponents. Going from role player to in the conversation of…

With the NBA draft being a few weeks away, teams continue to host prospects for workouts and interviews. In my last article, I talked about possible landing spots for Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis after the draft lottery. However, more recently Johnny has moved up some analysts’ mock drafts and has some new possible teams interested. Indiana Pacers In a recent Sports Illustrated mock draft, a new team appeared for possibly drafting Johnny Davis and it makes a lot of sense. This mock had Johnny going to Indiana with the sixth pick in the draft. Indiana has been in a weird state…

The 2022 NBA draft order is officially set thanks to the always anticipated draft lottery that took place last night. A lot of mock drafts have Wisconsin’s own Johnny Davis headed somewhere between picks 7-12. As many Badger fans know, Johnny is a good athlete who proved to be a big time 3-level scorer and the promise to become a great defender. In today’s league, teams are continuing to look for bigger guards that can play both ways. Which is the reason for Johnny being a potential top-10 pick. Now that we know the draft order, we have a better…

It’s official, the Denver Broncos are my team to cheer for in the AFC. If you told me a couple years ago that Russell Wilson and Melvin Gordon would team up in the NFL, it would be a Badger fans dream come true. On top of the Badger backfield, Denver showed their love for Bucky by drafting two Wisconsin defenders, Faion Hicks and Matt Henningsen. Both former Badgers agreed to 4-year deals with the Denver Broncos. Faion Hicks Faion Hicks quickly became a Badger fan favorite in his time at Madison. An undersized corner at just 5’10, Faion makes up…
