Green Bay Packers, Jaire Alexander

Having one All-Pro on the team is an accomplishment. The Packers have possibly 6 All-Pros, which could change the trajectory of the Packers’ 2023-24 season. The Packers’ 2023-24 season is covered in a haze. Nobody knows how the season will start and end. Under Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have lost their last two week 1 games, where they came out flat and unprepared. That could change under Jordan Love, who has been practicing and building a rapport with his receivers. The Packers could come out strong with a QB who has been preparing the whole offseason.  The team has a…

This is part two of a six-part series going in-depth on Brian Gutekunst’s draft classes. Part One (2018 Draft Class) can be found here. Gute had a pretty underwhelming first draft class, other than Jaire Alexander. Marquez Valdes-Scantling contributed, but only Alexander was given a second contract with the team. It seems as though Gute has struck gold with his last two drafts, drafting 11 potential starters. If these two draft classes can live up to their potential, it can jumpstart the Packers’ retooling. With that said, let’s look back at the Packers’ 2019 draft class.  Overall Draft Grade 2019:…

Brian Gutekunst had two incredible back-to-back drafts for the Green Bay Packers, drafting 11 potential starters. The possible 11 starters over the last two drafts are more than Gute had drafted in his first 4 years. Of the players still on the roster, Gute has drafted 8 of the starters. With what we can only hope are two stellar drafts to jumpstart this Packers’ retool, let’s look back at how the Gute’s drafts have gone so far.  Overall Draft Grade 2018: C The 2018 Packers draft class is an interesting one. On the one hand, Gute drafted a top 3…

Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo Adrian Griffin

The Bucks have been on a tear lately, going 25-5 over their last 30 games. The team has been clicking, and the players have even stood out. The Bucks could become the first team since the 2000-01 76ers to win MVP, COTY, DPOY, and 6MOTY. The Bucks could take it one step further and win the championship, along with winning all these awards, being the first team in the modern era to do so.  Most Valuable Player It’s no surprise to anyone who watches basketball that Giannis Antetokuounmpo is in the top 5 in the MVP race for a fifth…

Pat is back Milwaukee Bucks

Pat Connaughton was a vital piece for the Bucks during their championship run. Losing him at the beginning of the season was a significant loss, but the Bucks were able to start strong without him. Once he came back, he struggled mightily. He averaged 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds on 34-30-65 efficiency through his first 19 games. That did not bode well for the Bucks and their chance at another run.  New Year, New Pat A rough start dampened the hopes of Bucks fans getting the real Playoff P back. Thankfully, the new year came around, and with that, a…

The Packers have had plenty of All-Pro players in their storied history. Most recently, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and De’Vondre Campbell made the All-Pro team in 2022. Unfortunately, Adams is no longer with the team, and Rodgers and Campbell have taken steps back from their incredible 2022 seasons. None of the 2022 Packers All-Pros will make the team this year.  Usually, in down years for teams, they don’t normally have All-Pro talent on the roster. That may not be true. One Packers player worked himself to the top of his position and could be given an All-Pro nod. Who is…

The Packers’ offense finally clicked and earned one of its highest PFF grades all season at 76.6. Despite having a few mistakes, the offense still put up 31 points against one of the best defenses it has faced all year. If the team continues to play like this, “Run the Table” part 2 could be possible.  Sammy Watkins: PFF Grade – 85.1 In a surprise turn of events, Sammy Watkins was the highest-graded offensive player on the team. He was also the 2nd highest-graded player on the team, only behind Rudy Ford.  Watkins played 21 offensive snaps, and only 9…

Packers PFF grades: defense

The defense was hit or miss this past Sunday. PFF gave the Packers’ defense a 65 grade, which is passable but is not nearly good enough with the talent on this roster. The run defense especially struggled in this game. The good sign is that it was the Packers’ 4th best defensive performance, and they were missing many vital starters (Gary, Campbell, and Stokes). Unfortunately, only Campbell will return this year.  Although they did not make the top 5 defense PFF grades, I wanted to give two shoutouts to Quay Walker and Isaiah McDuffie. Walker had 3 stops, and McDuffies…

Packers defense

The defense struggled mightily in the first half. They had an incredible first drive forcing a three-and-out on Buffalo’s first drive of the game, but then let Buffalo score on five straight drives. The Packers did contain the Bills to only three points in the second half, but too little too late. The Packers’ defense caused two turnovers, both interceptions by Rasul Douglas and Jaire Alexander. The defense needs more splash plays like these, or teams will continue to run all over them. Here are the top 5 defensive performances according to PFF.  Jaire Alexander – 90.8 PFF grade After…
