The Wisconsin football schedule was released this morning on Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff. The schedule will consist of eight regular season games. There will be a ninth game against a crossover opponent if a team doesn’t make the Big Ten Championship Game December 19. October Wisconsin will open the season October 24 at home against Illinois. The Big Ten conference leaders, chancellors, and presidents have voted to resume the 2020 football season. The season will begin the weekend of October 23-24. The decision comes after the Big Ten postponed the season back on August 11. The Season Each Big Ten team will play eight regular season games, beginning either October 23 or 24. With the Big Ten season postponed until at least winter, there has been some positive news for the Wisconsin Badger recently. Left Tackle Cole Van Lanen was recognized as a preseason first team All-American for USA TODAY. He was also selected to the Reese’s Senior Bowl top 250 list. Van Lanen was added to the Outland Trophy watch list earlier this year as well. Van Lanen will be entering his redshirt senior season at Wisconsin. Wisconsin has added to their class of 2021 in a big way. Three star wide receiver Skyler Bell has committed to Wisconsin. Bell is a 6’1 185 pound receiver from The Taft School in Watertown, CT. Bell chose Wisconisn over Rutgers, Iowa, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. Wisconisn offered Bell on April 29. Bell is added talent to an already loaded 2021 class for the Badgers. The Big Ten announced this morning the 2020 football season will be cancelled. This means there will be no Big Ten football games in 2020. This was an expected decision after reports came out earlier the conference was leaning towards cancelling the season. As a result, It is unclear yet if the Big Ten will move the season to the Spring 2021 semester or if football will be cancelled until next year.
