The Wisconsin and Minnesota game has been canceled. As a result, there will be no battle for Paul Bunyan’s Ax. This is a result of a COVID outbreak within the Minnesota program. This is according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus. https://twitter.com/jaypo1961/status/1331368394248097792 Minnesota had a number of players miss their game last week against Purdue as a result of positive COVID tests. This is Minnesota’s first canceled game of the season. Unlike Minnesota, Wisconsin is impacted greatly. This will be the third game canceled this year for the Badgers if they can’t schedule another opponent. If Wisconsin can’t find another…
The Wisconsin Badgers have released their 2020-2021 basketball schedule. The Badgers are looking to defend their Big Ten championship from last season. This will be the time we see the Badgers since the Big Ten tournament was cancelled in March. https://twitter.com/BadgerMBB/status/1329184273182691329 Early Thoughts The Badgers schedule consists of six non-conference games and 20 Big Ten conference games. The Badgers prepare themselves with two solid programs in non-conference action in Marquette and Louisville. Marquette is the in-state rivalry game and Louisville is a part of the ACC/Big Ten basketball challenge. Wisconsin also schedules Northern Iowa, a member of the Missouri Valley…
Badger Football is back! After 22 days since the Badgers last took the field, they head to Ann Arbor for a clash with the Michigan Wolverines. The game is scheduled for 6:30 PM CST on ABC. It will be the prime time game in college football this week. Here we breakdown Saturday’s game. About The Badgers The Badgers have not taken the field since October 23 due to a COVID outbreak in the program. Starting quarterback Graham Mertz and head coach Paul Chryst were among the ones who tested positive. It is unclear who will be out this week, but…
The Wisconsin basketball program signed their 2021 mens basketball class Wednesday. Matthew Mors, Chucky Hepburn, and Chris Hodges have officially signed. They will make up the freshmen class next season. Below is a little bit about each player. Matthew Mors I have been very excited about Matthew Mors since he committed to Wisconsin September 29, 2019. Mors hails from Yankston, SD. He is the number one player in the state of South Dakota, a two time Mr. Basketball in South Dakota, and averaged 19. 4 points a game and 8.5 rebounds a game last year as junior. Oh, he also…
Class of 2021 wide receiver Markus Allen committed to Wisconsin yesterday afternoon. Allen re-opened his commitment in September after de-committing from Michigan. As a result, Wisconsin was very active in recruiting him. Allen was being heavily recruited by Wisconsin wide receiver coach Alvis Whitted. https://twitter.com/MarkusAllen19/status/1324812472528916483 Markus Allen is a 6’3 205 pound wide receiver from Clayton, Ohio. He received offers from Boston College, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Virginia, and many others. He joins Skyler Bell as the wide outs in the 2021 class. Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez has announced the Wisconsin-Purdue game scheduled for this Saturday has been canceled. This is a result of the COVID-19 outbreak within the Badgers football team. Wisconsin had to cancel their game against Nebraska last Saturday as well. This came after defeating the Illinois Fighting Illini 45-7 in week one. Alvarez revealed on “College Game Day” this past Saturday 15 players and 12 coaching staff members have tested positive for COVID. This included head coach Paul Chryst and starting quarterback Graham Mertz. Because of the COVID uncertainty with the Badgers program, It is unclear if next…
This is part two of my Wisconsin football schedule breakdown and predictions. In part one, I predicted the Badgers going 3-1 with a loss to Michigan. Let’s see what part two brings! Game 5- At Northwestern (November 21) Let’s be honest here. It is never fun going to Ryan Field on the schedule and playing Northwestern. It’s always cloudy and will make you want to pull your hair out of your head for three hours. Northwestern wants this game to be a defensive battle and always plays hard for coach Pat Fitzgerald. The lower the score, the advantage leans towards…
The Wisconsin Badgers open their season two weeks from today. In part one of a two part series, I will be predicting every game on the Badgers schedule. Does the record look different with Graham Mertz as the starter compared to if Jack Coan was under center? Lets find out! Game 1- Illinois (October 24) The Badgers have a chance to avenge last season’s shocking loss to the Illini. The Badgers lost on a last second field goal 24-23. Two late turnovers hurt the Badgers chance to seal the game. The Badgers will be looking for revenge and will get…
Wisconsin Badgers starting quarterback Jack Coan has suffered a foot injury. Reports indicate Coan is out indefinitely. The severity of the injury is unknown. This is according to Wisconsin football reporter Jeff Potrykus. https://twitter.com/jaypo1961/status/1312750540250636288 As a result, if the senior quarterback is out for an extended period of time, redshirt freshman Graham Mertz would be the favorite to start. The other quarterbacks would be Chase Wolf and Danny Vanden Boom. If Coan does miss time, it’s a huge blow to the offense. Coan has started 18 games in his career and has appeared in 25 games. He is the only…
As we enter the month of October, we are only three weeks away from the beginning of the 2020 Wisconsin football season. It’s hard to believe the last time we saw the Badgers play was a New Years Day heartbreaking loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl. In this article, I’ll be sharing my early thoughts on the shortened schedule for the Badgers. The Home Schedule Is Favorable The Badgers open up the schedule October 24 at home against Illinois. Wisconsin suffered a shocking 24-23 loss to Illinois on the road last year. Wisconsin will be looking for revenge. Wisconsin…
