Chimere Dike

As I continue to look at the most important Wisconsin Badgers in 2023, I return to the offensive side of the ball. At number six, I went with senior wide receiver Chimere Dike. Dike will be the lone senior in a young but talented wide receiver room. Dike has made strides in his first three year which is what you want to see in a young pass catcher. In his senior year, I have a good feeling about Dike’s production. You can also read numbers 7-10 below as well. Alexander Smith Jack Nelson Clay Cundiff Chez Mellusi Why Dike When…

After staying on the offensive side of the most important Wisconsin Badgers for the 2023 season, we finally get to the defensive side of the ball. At number seven, I am going with cornerback Alexander Smith. Smith will be one of the starting corners this season and returns for his sixth and final year of eligibility. Below are links to numbers 10-8 as well. Chez Mellusi Clay Cundiff Jack Nelson Why Smith You won’t find many players with 43 career games played with one school. Alexander Smith is one of those players. There’s no doubt he will be the…

We have been through two of the most important Wisconsin Badgers for the 2023 football season. Number 10 was Chez Mellusi and number nine was Clay Cundiff. Today, at number eight, I chose starting left tackle Jack Nelson. Nelson is going into his third year as the starting left left tackle for the Badgers. He is also arguably their best offensive lineman. Why Nelson As mentioned above, Nelson is probably Wisconsin’s best overall lineman. He’s been selected as an Honorable Mention All Big Ten player the last two seasons. That’s a big deal for the amount of quality linemen there…

Today we continue with my list of the 10 Wisconsin Badgers players/coaches who are most important for a successful 2023 season. We started at number 10 with Chez Mellusi. At number nine, I stay on the offensive side with tight end Clay Cundiff. Cundiff will be the starting tight end and is the leader of a position group that needs to produce this season. Why Cundiff The stats don’t necessarily catch your eye when you see Clay Cundiff’s production the last two seasons. Unfortunately, the redshirt junior has suffered season ending injuries in 2021 against Iowa and last season against…

Every day is closer to the beginning of the 2023 Wisconsin Badgers football season. The popular opinion is the Badgers are looked at as the favorite in the Big Ten West. In order for Wisconsin to be successful this year, there are 10 individuals they need to rely on the most. Over the next few weeks, I will highlight one player or coach. Today, I begin with Chez Mellusi. Why Mellusi It’s not often you will have a backup running back as one of the most important players on your team. However, Chez Mellusi is a vital part of this…

The Milwaukee Brewers took two of three games from the Cincinnati Reds to conclude the first half of the season. The Reds entered the series with a two game lead in the NL Central. It was an important series for the Brewers as they are only one game back at the All-Star break. Here are three things the Brewers should do with the roster for the second half of the season. Have A Plan B At First Base It’s been a tough two month stretch for Rowdy Tellez. There’s no doubt he has a lot of pop in his bat…

There isn’t much of an of-season in the NBA and Wisconsin basketball. Just under a month after the Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship, the NBA Summer League has already began. This mostly consists of first and second year players as well as G-League players and un-drafted free agents who hope to impress enough to get some playing time in the actual league. The Wisconsin Badgers have three former players in the Summer League. That would be Johnny Davis (Washington Wizards), Micah Potter (Utah Jazz), and Aleem Ford (Sacramento Kings). Here is how the three players are performing so far.…

It’s summer and the off-season in college basketball. However, teams like Wisconsin are beginning their summer workouts in preparation for the upcoming season. New players have joined the team and this year will look similar yet different. The Badgers only lost a few players from last year’s team that missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018. This year, they are looking to get back into the big dance. While it’s still  early, here are my three early thoughts on this year’s team. The Depth and Overall Talent Should Be A Lot Better There was a lot of…

Lafaele

It’s been a really good summer for Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers. After a terrific month of June, the Badgers are starting the month of July on fire as well. It was announced today Anelu Lafaele, an edge rusher from Honolulu will make his college decision on Tuesday. It can be followed live on YouTube. According to Lafaele’s tweet, Wisconsin is a finalist along with Hawaii, Arizona State, and Washington. There are three crystal balls on the 247 website and all three have Lafaele favoring the Badgers. Lafaele is the number two ranked player in the state of Hawaii…

Two things were guaranteed when you think about the Wisconsin Badgers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. You knew both teams were defense first and anything provided on offense was just a bonus. For the last three seasons, Graham Mertz and Spencer Petras were the signal callers for the Badgers and Hawkeyes. Most Saturday’s the fan bases were frustrated with the play from their quarterbacks. Neither player is with their program anymore. When Wisconsin and Iowa battle in Madison on October 14, not only do I think whoever wins this game heads to the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis, but I think…
