Iowa State has asserted itself as a perennial powerhouse despite only getting to the Sweet 16 last year. The Cyclones are currently 20-1 odds to make the National Championship and +350 to make the final four. With its winning traditions and a top spot in the newly announced revenue sharing, it’s easy to want to play for Iowa State. Four of the five losses for the Cyclones have been against top 25 teams. The Cyclones started off their 2024-25 Big 12 conference tournament with a win against the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday afternoon. Despite turning the ball over 17 times,…
Spring Training baseball is in the air, next week pitchers and catchers are due to report. Besides the players, the Milwaukee Brewers announced on Wednesday the coaches at each affiliate, including some familiar faces. No major changes among the managers. Rick Sweet returns to manage Triple-A Nashville Sounds. Joe Ayrault, who had to step away last season due to health reasons, is back as manager for Double-A Biloxi. The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t made a huge splash this offseason, they are the reigning National League Central Champions. The team is hoping for breakout seasons from several of their young, talented players. One of those young players is Jackson Chourio, Brewer fans and media are clamoring over what kind of a season he can have. Chourio had a fantastic rookie season last year. he finished the season slashing .275/.327/.464 with 21 home runs, 79 RBIs, 22 stolen bases, 29 doubles, and four triples in 148 games played. His 3.8 wins above replacement at 20 years old is almost unheard of.…
Unstoppable Bucks’ Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo Says He Plays Hard Every Time, Even Against Wife.
The Bucks battled it out Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Bucks ended up losing 127-117 despite a valiant effort from their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. As usual, Antetokounmpo was his spectacular self, scoring 36 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, but after the game, he was visibly upset. No one has ever questioned the 30-year-old superstar’s efforts on the court. So much so that he talked about how hard he goes every night on the court, no matter who is in front of him including his wife. “Every time I step on the floor, I try to play hard.…
The Milwaukee Brewers are feeling some heat with all the moves teams have made in their division this offseason. It appears the Brewers may not make a big splashy trade before spring training begins, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be paying attention to what is happening around them. Milwaukee is loaded with talent and should be considered the favorite to win the National League Central again. The Cubs are improving and have added some pieces to challenge the Brewers. They added Kyle Tucker but did trade away Cody Bellinger, the move still makes the Cubs a better team this…
The Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NBA this year. Playing slightly over a .500 clip since winning the NBA Cup, with title aspirations on their mind this isn’t where they wanted to be. Tuesday night’s game at home against the surging Kings was going to be difficult, as the Bucks are still searching for answers, but thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP play the Bucks went ahead and won 130-115. Giannis had a huge part in this game. The Kings had no answer for Giannis’s interior scoring, sometimes scoring at will from all over…
The Milwaukee Brewers come into 2025 with a few question marks still, one of the biggest questions is their infield alignment. With Willy Adames leaving in free agency to join the San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee has to sort out the infield. First base is spoken for as Rhys Hoskins opted into his contract for this upcoming season. Barring an injury or trade, it’s likely he will be there on opening day. The second base will likely be manned by Brice Turang after winning the Gold Glove Award last year. Shortstop and third base are the biggest question marks. The Brewers…
The Milwaukee Brewers have seen many key pieces leave via trade and free agency this off-season. Devin Williams was traded to the Yankees, and Willy Adames signed a six-year, $182 million contract with the San Francisco Giants, which ended up being the largest contract in Giants history. The Giants got some talent back in the Williams trade, established starter Nestor Cortez, and infield prospect Caleb Durbin who might be able to help sooner rather than later. The Brewers feel they can manage in the infield with 26-year-old Joey Ortiz, and 25-year-old Brice Turang, who won a gold glove at second…
“Life After Lopez: Bucks Scramble for a Center Solution” For seven years Brook Lopez has put on his number 11 jersey for the Milwaukee Bucks. He has done some great things in Milwaukee. He won a championship in 2021, a two-time All-defensive teamer, and just a week ago he entered his name further into the history books, he became the no. 20 all-time leading shot blocker in the NBA. He has 1,969 blocks. Lopez just leapfrogged another All-defensive Team player, Theo Ratliffe. Former All-Star power forward Larry Nance’s 2,027 blocks are up next on the ranks. Lopez is having another…
We’re already at the end of December, and I have the urge to talk baseball. Yes, that’s right, baseball. Spring training is only a few months away, as the Brewers look to win the National League Central title again. This article includes a list of the top prospects in the Brewers organization. Some players listed are already on the team but didn’t get enough at-bats or innings pitched. The Brewers have a nice mix of young hitters at all different positions, and some power arms that might help them this year. Let’s look at this list and discuss a few…
