Following their victory over Indiana, the Badgers head back home for a matchup against the Michigan Wolverines. Wisconsin came from behind once again, defeating the Hoosiers 74-69. The Badgers would go on to close out the game with a 13-4 run led by Johnny Davis. Davis finished the game with a game high 30 points along with grabbing 12 rebounds. Following Wisconsin’s big road victory over Michigan State, the Badgers now head back home with a matchup against Rutgers. The Badgers defeated the Spartans 70-62 Tuesday evening at the Breslin Center. It’s the first time Wisconsin has beaten both Michigan State and Purdue on the road in the same season since 1963. Wisconsin was once again led by sophomore phenom Johnny Davis with 25 points on 8-11 shooting. Things didn’t go the way Wisconsin hoped following their matchup with Illinois Wednesday evening. The Badgers fell to the Illini 80-67 with their worst three point shooting effort on the season. Wisconsin would finish 3-24 from beyond the arc, connecting on all three makes in the second half. Along with the cold shooting, the Badgers struggled containing star Illinois center Kofi Cockburn. The Player of the Year candidate went off for 37 points on 16-19 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Although not their best, Wisconsin did find production from a few of their players. Following their loss to Michigan State, the Badgers look to turn things around with a matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers Thursday evening. Then 8th ranked Wisconsin lost at the Kohl Center 86-74 to the 14th ranked Spartans. The Badgers were led by Johnny Davis with 25 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Following their small break, Wisconsin is back for their next Big Ten clash. The Badgers travel down to Evanston, IL with a matchup with the Northwestern Wildcats. The #8 Badgers took care of business last week defeating then #16 Ohio State 78-68. For a team predicted to finish 10th in the Big Ten, Wisconsin basketball is exceeding expectations. Following their victory over 16th ranked Ohio State, the Badgers now sit 14-2 and 5-1 in conference play. Sitting at 13 in the national standings, Greg Gard has his team firing on all fronts. Once again the Badgers come from behind and escape with a victory. Wisconsin picked up a huge road victory over Purdue Monday evening. Following a break due to a Covid-19 outbreak within the program, Wisconsin basketball is back. The Badgers are set to face off against Illinois State rounding out their non-conference play schedule. After trailing by nine points at half, the 24th ranked Badgers found a way once again. They defeated Nicholls State 71-68 led by senior guard Brad Davison with 19 points. Along with Davison, junior forward Tyler Wahl finished with 12 points and center Chris Vogt with nine points and seven rebounds. With the early signing period under way, the Badgers have picked up a huge commitment. In-state four star defensive lineman Isaac Hamm is staying home. A composite four star player according to 24/7 sports, Hamm ranks as the 28th best defensive lineman in the country. The Sun Prairie native also ranks as the 205th best player in the 2022 class. Following his commitment, Hamm is the second highest rated player in the 2022 class behind four star offensive lineman Joe Brunner. After the largest comeback in program history, the Badgers head to Columbus as they face off against #21 Ohio State. Wisconsin is coming off a 64-59 victory where they trailed by as many as 22 points. Sophomore guard Johnny Davis led all scorers with 23 points, including the go ahead three pointer with 1:18 left. Along with Davis, freshman Chucky Hepburn closed out the game going 4-4 from the free throw line.
