In part one of this Packers rebuilding series, we looked at the reasons why Green Bay is possibly rebuilding in 2023. In this part, we will look at why they are not rebuilding and why they will be competitive in 2023.
Weak Division/Conference

The NFC may be weaker than the AFC due to the abundance of star quarterbacks in the conference. Despite the departure of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets and Tom Brady’s retirement, the NFC still needs an elite quarterback. Therefore, teams in the NFC may only need to win 9-10 games to secure their division title. Projections suggest that the Packers may win between six-11 games in 2023, while Bears fans are less optimistic, with predictions of one-four wins.
However, the Packers may aim to be competitive this season, as they do not have to win 11-14 games to secure a higher seed or division title than the AFC. The NFC North is also up for grabs, with any of the four teams having the potential to win. Although the Vikings are the favorites, last year’s results showed that anything can happen.
The Packers’ Talent

The Packers have undergone some changes in their roster between 2022 and 2023, including trading Rodgers and parting ways with veteran players like Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Mason Crosby, and Marcedes Lewis. Despite this, the team still boasts a talented roster poised to win games in the upcoming season, thanks to the two-headed monster of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon and a solid offensive line.
In addition, the Packers’ defense boasts several first-round talents, as long as defensive coordinator Joe Barry doesn’t hold them back. These factors – a strong offensive line, a reliable running game, and a sturdy defense – put the Packers in an excellent position to be competitive.
Are the Packers Rebuilding in 2023?
The upcoming year of 2023 is expected to bring about a refreshing change for Green Bay fans, regardless of whether the Packers are undergoing a rebuilding phase or not. Fans can anticipate the arrival of new players and a thrilling season ahead. This will be the first time in over a decade that fans and experts will have low expectations for the Packers. Overall, 2023 is predicted to be a relatively stress-free year for Packers supporters, a welcome relief after a long period of high-pressure games.
