The Packers have had problems in drafting in the third round. If you look at the history, they have not had a third-round pick do anything in 10 years. One former Packers third-round draft pick was hoping to find a new start with another team after his release. It looks like it is working out for him. Former Packers WR Amari Rodgers scored his first career TD on Sunday.

Amari Rodgers Scores First Career TD
While he had one in the preseason, Amari Rodgers never scored a TD for the Packers in the regular season. After his release from the Packers due to his poor special teams play, Rodgers was picked up by the Texans. It seems he is learning the offense well. In the first half of a game against the Cowboys, Amari Rodgers scored his first career TD. It was a very nice catch in traffic and he was able to just get over the goal line for a score.
Good For Amari Rodgers
I hear the frustration now. How could Amari Rodgers do this today (with Jeff Driskel as the QB) and not with the Packers? While that can be frustrating, there are sometimes when it just doesn’t work out with a player on a certain team. This was the case for the Packers and Amari Rodgers. The Texans are in full rebuild mode. This gives a young player like Amari Rodgers plenty of reps and a long leash to make mistakes. The Packers are looking to win now and the mistakes were backbreaking. Good for Amari Rodgers scoring his first TD.
At this point, the Packers should look to use their third-round picks in every trade. They clearly can find value in the fourth round but something about the third round gives them problems. Hopefully, Amari Rodgers can continue to develop but not come back to haunt the Packers.
