Before The Game On Tuesday Night in Orlando The Bucks found out that their 2 All-stars will be out resting against the Magic. Giannis Antetokounmpo was ruled out with a Non Covid illness and Jrue Holiday with Neck soreness. But knowing the opponent I’m going to say they are being cautious before the 3 game west Coast road trip coming up starting on Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors.
I would say the other biggest story Tuesday night in Orlando was Khris Middleton returning to the starting lineup for the 1st time since December 15th. He was as good as he’s been all season getting to his spots shooting the ball, aggressive getting to the Free throw line. Tied a season High scoring 24 points, 5-9 from the field, 13-14 FT and a season High 11 assists. He was one of the key players that helped lead to their 9th consecutive Road win in Orlando. Bucks are now 18-1 in their last 19 games.
Other key players except Khris Middleton tonight:
Lopez 26 PTS / 9-14 FG, 3 Blocks
Carter 24 PTS / 5 AST / 9-13 FG / 4-5 3P
Portis 16 PTS / 11 REB / 8-13 FG. His (30th) Double Double of the season
Crowder 15 PTS / 5-9 FG / 2-5 3P
Ingles 12 PTS / 6 AST / 5-6 FG / 2-3 3P
The Depth is so impressive with this team to score 134 points without 2 All-stars is incredible goes to show how deep this roster is. Credit goes to John Horst the General Manager putting all this talent around Giannis Antetokounmpo to put a lot of shooting and spacing on the floor. Opens up the offense for Giannis to drive to rim or kick out to a Open shooter for a 3 pointer.
Khris Middleton Needs to ramp up the Minutes more and more:
I think as the season winds down the most important thing to look at is Khris Middleton Minutes gradually going up and up game by game. Tonight was a great sign for things to come Khris Middleton played over 30 minutes for the 1st time since December 10th in Dallas. Now the Question is does he remain in the starting lineup Thursday against Brooklyn if Jrue and Giannis return?
Resting players before the end of season Will be crucial for playoffs:
There’s going to be a lot of chances for players to get some rest Like Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo,Jrue Holiday, and Brook Lopez. After the win tonight Bucks are 2.5 ahead of Boston for 1st place In the Eastern conference standings with 17 games remaining in the Regular season. There is a another Back to Back coming up on the West coast Road trip, They go to Sacramento on Monday night and Phoenix Tuesday night. Brook Lopez has only missed one game this season, while Giannis has missed 13 games, Middleton 40+ games, and Jrue Holiday missed a few as well including tonight.
