It is true that the 18-year starter Aaron Rodgers was away during the offseason, which he was criticized for. Not going through workouts with the team, missing time, or getting to know his new teammates. For the most part, those things were put to the side, as team strengths, weaknesses and chemistry have been the main focus moving forward in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. A lot of the negative attention has come from the media, but Rodgers is human just like every other player in the NFL. While the Green Bay Packers have been preparing for their season by making cuts, trades, and choosing starting spots, one current NFL player spoke out about where the All-Pro QB Aaron Rodgers ranks among some elite company.
NFL Top 100 list
Recently the Cleveland Browns standout defensive end Myles Garrett was asked about the Top 100 player rankings. When Garrett was asked, he stated, ” I think I should be one, but I mean, I’m not voting.” Where do I expect myself? Somewhere in the Top 20, I don’t want to rate myself. I’m not sure”. Sounds like he does not like to compare other players in the league, but later on Garrett spoke up saying, “I don’t like to compare myself to anyone, because I think I have a lot of different things that I bring to the table, and I don’t think anyone has the particular set of skills that I have”.
Safe to say that the star defensive end is confident within himself and his abilities. In response to his comments on the NFL Top 100 question, the former Kansas City Chiefs “All-Pro” safety Tyrann Mathieu had a different answer as he took to Twitter giving his thoughts on the subject: https://twitter.com/Mathieu_Era/status/
All-Pro Tyrann Mathieu Career History

Better known as the “Honey Badger” in college with LSU. The All-Pro safety was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2013 NFL Draft picked 69th overall. During his career he has played with the Cardinals (2013-17), Houston Texans (2018), and the Kansas City Chiefs (2019-21). In his last season with Kansas City, Mathieu had 76 tackles, six pass breakups, three interceptions, one sack, and three fumbles. The “All-Pro” safety was selected as a captain in the 2021 Pro Bowl and is back on the current roster for the New Orleans Saints after being absent.

Some might take his recent comments as a joke, to others it could be taken differently. Maybe, he really believes that Aaron Rodgers should be #1 on the NFL Top 100 list. Whatever the situation is, everyone knows the two NFL players play very different positions. It could just be one all-pro selection giving credit to another. Only time will tell!!
Sunday (August 28th) is when the NFL Top 20 list will be revealed on The NFL Network.
