The Packers are riding high after a victory over the Vikings on Sunday. While there were many juicy storylines coming out of the game, one huge one was the antics of Za’Darius Smith. During the pregame, he was one of the captains and while other Vikings shook hands, Smith refused to shake hands with the Packers. Adrian Amos was one of the captains and he had some thoughts on the pregame antics of Za’Darius Smith.
Adrian Amos Sounds Off On Za’Darius Smith
Amos seemed to find the antics of Smith extremely funny. The Packers as a whole have not commented on Smith’s accusations about the organization’s treatment of him. Amos, and many other players, find the whole situation a little funny. “I knew he was going to do that, that’s why I walked to him,” Amos said after the game. “That’s how he is. He’s just in that game-mode mindset. I know he didn’t mean no disrespect towards me. That’s why we were both laughing; that’s how he is.” Amos went so far as to say that Smith was not meaning disrespect, he was simply in the zone.
The Packers Shut Him Down
If Za’Darius Smith was in “game-mode mindset” then he might want to find a new one. Smith was completely shut down by the Packers’ offensive line. David Bakhtiari and the rest of the offensive line handled him and he had zero pressures. He was a complete non-factor in the game. The hope is that this also shuts down the Smith narrative. Even though Adrian Amos thinks it is a non-issue, I for one am tired of hearing how butt-hurt Smith is.
Hopefully, the game Adrian Amos had was a sign of things to come. He played very well on Sunday after a subpar year. The Packers just need a win against the Lions to make the playoffs. If they do win, it will be one of the most improbable playoffs pushes in recent memory.
