New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been the talk of the town on New York sports radio ever since he has been with the Jets. They have captured many headlines this offseason, and there will be plenty more with the regular season coming up.
Some analysts are predicting them to make the playoffs, and some are predicting them to miss the playoffs. Shaun Morash of WFAN made some bold predictions about the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers on Monday about the upcoming 2023 season.
He said on WFAN:
“I believe that the Jets are a 10-win team…I believe they will make the playoffs, not win the division, probably lose in the Wild Card round, and it will look a lot like the Aaron Rodgers playoff exits over the last couple of years.”
Aaron Rodgers missed the playoffs in his final season with the Green Bay Packers with an 8-9 record. They had a chance on the final day of the 2022 NFL regular season to make it but lost at home against the Detroit Lions.
Rodgers has flamed out earlier than expected in the postseason over the years before that moment. He was brought to win a Super Bowl, but the Jets are a young team, and they need the playoff experience. Morash thinks they are going to be a wild-card team in the AFC and be a first-round exit this season.
Shaun Morash also said:
“I don’t think it’s outlandish…it seems to be the track record for Aaron Rodgers-led teams recently. Also, a Jets core that I think, tasting a playoff game…will do them some good.”
Aaron Rodgers Needs To Be Committed to the New York Jets Past 2023

One of the things that Rodgers needs to do is be committed to this franchise past this season. He is 39 years old and will be 40 years old once the season ends. The goal is to win the Super Bowl this season, and it hasn’t happened since 1969 for the Jets since the days of Joe Namath.
It has been a massive drought for this fanbase. Morash lastly said on WFAN:
“If Aaron Rodgers is really, truly committed to being here more than this year, I think next year is the year you think about the Super Bowl, if they make the playoffs this year. There is something to that To ulimately lift that Lombardi Trophy…experiencing playoff football for a locker room, for a core group of guys, it wets your whistle, you get a taste of it, and you’re good to go.”
Teams sometimes have to go through the painful experiences of losing before they win a championship. It has been so long since Aaron Rodgers tasted a Super Bowl victory, and that was back in 2010 with the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The New York Jets have the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins to worry about alone in the AFC East. The rest of the AFC will be brutal. New York has a tough schedule to begin this season. The Jets will need Aaron Rodgers around for multiple seasons if they want a chance to win it all.
A serious injury to Rodgers or a Super Bowl victory this season could very well get him into retirement, but it would be highly unlikely. Aaron Rodgers seems to be having fun with the New York Jets for now, but will see what happens when times get tough. These predictions about Rodgers and the New York Jets are not crazy by WFAN’s Shaun Morash for the upcoming 2023 season.
