Aaron Rodgers Trade Likely To Land Outstanding Starting Wide Receiver

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers could actually be headed toward a trade this off-season.  Aaron Rodgers has not made a decision yet, or at least one that has been shared with the public.  Regardless, trade rumors have swirled regarding his 2023 team all off-season.  Those trade rumors are heating up after Aaron Rodgers reportedly spoke to the New York Jets about a potential trade.  With the Jets being a possible trade suitor, that opens the door for a certain wide receiver to land in Green Bay via said trade.

Why would Elijah Moore likely land in Green Bay if Aaron Rodgers is traded to the Jets?  Shipping the third-year wide recevier off to Green Bay would solve a lot of problems for all parties involved.   Moore and the Jets have been dealing with a tumultuous relationship over the past year. A second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Moore was expected to be a key contributor in New York’s offense with Zach Wilson under center. Instead, Wilson was benched and Moore have a negligible impact for the Jets in 2022, catching only 37 passes for 446 yards and one touchdown.

Things turned even more sour for the two parties when Moore requested a trade at the deadline.  He stated that he wasn’t getting the ball enough. Additional details that were released revealed a disgruntled and frustrated young player that had a profane outburst at Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur.  It would also benefit the Green Bay Packers salary cap wise.

With two years still on his rookie deal, Elijah Moore will count for less than $2.5 million against the cap in 2023 and still be under contract through the 2024 season.  Lastly, Moore would fit in perfectly with the Green Bay Packers’ offense.  Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs have certainly proved to be perimeter threats early on in their career.  Elijah Moore, however, played 341 of his 729 offensive snaps in the slot according to Pro Football Focus.  The versatility he would bring to Green Bay would be massive.
