The Green Bay Packers may not have to wait much longer to see if Aaron Rodgers will play for them in 2021. Ever since ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that he wanted out of Green Bay, many have wondered if the three-time MVP has already played his last down for the Packers. In a recent interview with NBC Sports, Rodgers indicated that the wait may soon be over.

    The Interview

    🚨🚨Aaron Rodgers🚨🚨

Rodgers, who was enjoying his time at a golf tournament, said that he is going to “enjoy the hell out of this week.” He later added that he would figure things out in a couple of weeks. Packers’ training camp begins on July 28.

What Rodgers Said at The Match

    “I don’t know”

In the highly advertised Match that pitted Rodgers (and Bryson DeChambeau) against Tom Brady (and Phil Mickelson), Rodgers was asked about whether or not he would play for the Packers this season. His response, “I don’t know.”

The Packers and Rodgers obviously have more work to do to fix their riff. However, former and current teammates have expressed confidence that he will be under center for the Packers this season.  In addition, Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning also said he hopes Rodgers plays for the Packers this season:

Rodgers Sure Looks Ready to Play

Despite his non-committal, Rodgers does appear primed and ready to play.  He wowed fans at the golf tournament with this rifle of a throw from the 17th tee:

Obviously, his arm strength is as good as it has ever been.  In addition, the accuracy to at least hit the target from so far is part of what makes Rodgers so great.  Despite skipping OTA’s and mini camp, there is no concern about whether or not he can still physically play.

    Will He Show Up?

When it comes down to it, Aaron Rodgers is a competitor.  The Packers have already stated that they will not trade him,  In addition, he is due to make $35 million this season.  The question of whether or not he will be under center after this season will continue to be debated.  However, most signs point to him playing for the Packers this season.
