This story just recently came up in my news feed from 2019 and I thought it was extremely interesting given the future of Aaron Rodgers’ career. In 2019 Aaron Rodgers and the NFL world reacted to Andrew Luck’s retirement. It came as a shock to many. However at the same time many certainly understood where Luck was coming from. There were some fans though, who didn’t react so well to the news of Andrew Luck’s retirement. This was an on field reaction to Andrew Luck walking into the locker room for the very last time:
Aaron Rodgers Reacted To Colts Fans Booing Him:
After the Colts’ preseason game that year against the Bears, the fans in the stadium heavily booed Andrew Luck. It was extremely disrespectful for a player who had put his blood, sweat, and tears into an organization. In this case, Rodgers was the one who felt extremely unhappy after this reaction.
“Well, the surprise was obviously the first emotion. He’s a young player, he’s had a really, really good career,” Rodgers said, (h/t Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk). “But I think the second is a little disgust, maybe, at the way that it was handled. Him getting booed, the word leaking out the way that it did, I thought that was a little disgusting, because here’s a guy who’s making a quality of life decision. And he’s given a lot to the game, although he’s not a 15-year vet, but he’s put himself through a ton just to get back on the field.”
