Aaron Rodgers has played his last down at Lambeau Field, right? The Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets do not play each other this year. The only way they would is if they met in the Super Bowl (can you imagine?) and that is at a neutral site. However, because of how the NFL schedule works, we know how an Aaron Rodgers return to Lambeau Field could happen in the future.
Aaron Rodgers Return To Lambeau Field?
It is quite complicated and a lot would have to happen but it isn’t out of the question. With the expansion to a 17-game season, teams have an additional opponent on their schedule. For the 2024 season, the extra opponent for the NFC North is a team from the AFC East, the division the Jets are in. Who the opponent is depends on where a team finishes in the standings. If the Packers and Jets finish in the same spot in their division, they will play each other in 2024. Then it is dependent on whether it is in Lambeau or New York and whether Rodgers comes back. Could this actually happen?

A Lot Has To Happen
I’ll admit that this is a long shot. It isn’t out of the question that the Jets and Packers could finish in the same spot in their division. Most projections have each team finishing second or third in their respective division. It is a coin flip on whether this would be a home or away game for the team and Rodgers would have to decide to come back. If a visit to Lambeau Field was on the schedule, I’ll bet that Rodgers would want to make a glorious return.
I guess the other alternative is to go the Brett Favre route. If Rodgers leaves the Jets for the Minnesota Vikings next season he would easily have a return to Green Bay. While it seems unlikely, there is still a chance that Aaron Rodgers could make a return in 2024.
