Does Aaron Rodgers retire, come back to Green Bay, or seek a trade? It’s a huge question for Rodgers and also a storyline that NFL fans will be keeping a close eye on in 2023. Like most years, the NFL gambling industry also follows it closely, even releasing Aaron Rodgers’ retirement odds.

Rodgers and the Packers didn’t have the season they were hoping for. A 3-1 start quickly took a dive as they fell to 4-8. Winning four straight games gave Green Bay hope during their late-season playoff push. However, a 20-16 loss on Sunday night to the Detroit Lions halted the Packers’ postseason plans.

Aaron Rodgers Retirement & Next Team Odds

Does Aaron Rodgers retire in 2023?

With the future uncertain for Aaron Rodgers, oddsmaker Adam Thompson of Bookies.com did his best to predict where he might end up.

    Green Bay Packers     +200    33.3%
    San Francisco 49ers   +450    18.2%
    Las Vegas Raiders      +575    14.8%
    Tennessee Titans       +1200   7.7%
    New York Jets            +1200   7.7%
    Seattle Seahawks      +1250    7.4%
    Indianapolis Colts     +1500    6.3%
    The Field                   +800     11.1%
    Retirement                +650     13.3%

There are three teams that are the clear front-runners ahead of the Aaron Rodgers retirement odds, according to Thompson’s list. Logic points to Rodgers returning to the Packers next season. However, a jersey swap rejection with Lions’ receiver Jameson Williams fueled retirement rumors and likely increased Aaron Rodgers’ retirement odds. It’s a real possibility that Aaron Rodgers retires in 2023.

Being a California native and attending Cal, Rodgers grew up rooting for the 49ers, so a potential trade to San Francisco wouldn’t be the most far-fetched idea. Maybe Aaron Rodgers retires a 49er? However, the 49ers seem to be doing just fine with their seventh-round rookie, Brock Purdy. Jimmy Garrapolo might be on a new team in 2023, but they still have 2021 first-round pick Trey Lance waiting in the wings after he recovers from his season-ending ankle injury.

Next, there’s Las Vegas. If the Raiders land Rodgers in 2023, he would reunite with his former teammate Davante Adams. One of the reasons why Adams left the Packers was to try and find a team with a stable future at quarterback. He thought linking up with his former college teammate Derek Carr would be the answer. However, that decision backfired. If the Raiders don’t draft a quarterback in 2023, could they go after someone like Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady?

Could the Hall-of-Fame signal-caller retire? Aaron Rodgers retirement odds are the fourth lowest, according to Bookies.com. Rodgers said he needed time to “get away” and reflect before he made a decision. If he does call it a career, he will go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. The future Hall of Famer doesn’t have much else to prove. It all comes down to his desires and if he wants to try to make one last run at the Lombardi Trophy.
