It is Tuesday meaning that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had his weekly interview on the Pat McAfee Show. These interviews are never boring and always lead to some fun nuggets. This week was no different. Rodgers talked a lot about a certain free agent wide receiver a lot in the interview. Aaron Rodgers is clearling ramping up his recruiting efforts for free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Aaron Rodgers Recruiting Odell Beckham Jr.

Aaron Rodgers talked openly about his friendship with Odell Beckham Jr. and said that he hopes that they can “figure out how to play with each other”. Beckham Jr. responded with a run of emojis. He clearly is listening to Rodgers and excited about the opportunity to catch passes from the back-to-back NFL MVP. On Sunday, he was very vocal on Twitter during the game about his love for Rodgers. This has been three straight days of heavy recruitment of Odell Beckham Jr. by fans and now Aaron Rodgers.
Will The Packers Actually Sign Him?
The Packers have never been a team to make the big free agent deal. They tend to deal with what they have. However, there is one path that I see as an easy one to get Odell Beckham Jr. on the team. Amari Rodgers is basically a zero on the team right now. He isn’t getting snaps on offense and his punt returns have been below average. It is time to move on from Amari Rodgers. Whether the Packers trade him or simply cut him, Beckham Jr. would take that roster spot. He would at least be able to do more than what Amari Rodgers is providing the team.
The Market For Odell Beckham Jr. Is Heating Up
It makes sense that Aaron Rodgers is stepping up his recruiting efforts for Odell Beckham Jr. Many teams could use him. His most recent team, the Los Angeles Rams, could use another receiver as Cooper Kupp is basically the entire offense right now. The Baltimore Ravens could use a dynamic receiver to help Lamar Jackson. Beckham Jr. recently visited the New York Giants starting rumors of a possible reunion. With all the chatter around Beckham Jr., the feeling is that a signing close.
The Packers should go for it. They are desperate to get back to the Super Bowl and Beckham Jr. would add some much needed experience to the offense. I don’t think he would stunt the growth of Romeo Doubs or Christian Watson but would help take some of the pressure off of them. C’mon Brain Gutekunst. The fans want him. Aaron Rodgers wants him. Odell Beckham Jr. wants to be here. Pull the trigger and sign him.

I think this would be a great move! Give Rogers another target and take pressure off the young receiver corps! His experience and play making ability could be magic with Rogers at the helm. Let’s just hope the front office will pull the trigger on this no brainer!!
