The Packers defeated the Bears Sunday afternoon. Even though this season has been disappointing, going 2-0 against the Bears feels great. After the game, Aaron Rodgers talked to the media about a lot of things but singled out one player. Aaron Rodgers praised returner, Keisean Nixon, after the game.
"For a long time here, and I don't mean this as disrespect, when the ball is up in the air on kick-off, I'm thinking, 'Stay in, stay in, don't bring it out,'" says Aaron Rodgers. With Keisean Nixon, however, Rodgers said he's always telling him to bring it out of the end zone.

Aaron Rogers Praises Keisean Nixon
After Amari Rodgers was relieved of his returner duties, Nixon stepped in to fill the role. He has been a delightful surprise at the position. Aaron Rodgers is taking notice.
“For a long time here, and I don’t mean this as disrespect when the ball is up in the air on kick-off, I’m thinking, ‘Stay in, stay in, don’t bring it out'”
It seems that Rodgers has changed his tune with Nixon. He is always telling him to bring it out of the endzone and for good reason too. Nixon is consistently getting past the 25 and giving the Packers decent field position to start the drive.
A Change Of Tune
Rodgers must have still been having Ty Montgomery versus the Rams nightmares. He simply wanted the ball in his hands even if it meant starting from the 25 every time. For Rodgers to have this kind of confidence in Nixon is a complete change of tune. The fact that Rodgers took time out of his press conference to talk about Nixon says a lot. Getting an extra five yards may not seem like a lot but the field position battle often comes down to a yard here or there.
The special teams are not fixed by any means but the rise of Nixon is a good thing. If the Packers can find some consistency at returner in the back half of the season, it will help solidify something on the team going into next year.
